Benriach about the same price Tamdhu double the price but well worth it

Going slightly off thread as it's a blend, I bought a bottle of Japanese whiskey the other week. Suntory Toki £35. Not keen at first, but it's growing on me.

To say it has body is an understatement. It feels like you need a knife and fork to drink it.

Trouble I find is when I do have a nice whiskey I can’t stop drinking it and usually finish the bottle in a couple of days.

the only thing I had to do at my wedding apart from turn up was to choose the whisky for the toasts, so chose Tamdhu, it’s tremendous stuff.

Had a minor panic a few years ago and started stockpiling when Edrington decided to close the distillery but luckily someone eventually took it on with no interruptions. I was almost at the stage of sending the wife to do a degree in brewing and distilling (Herriot-Watt offer it as a degree) so I could try to buy the place myself.
