End of season parade in Manchester?

The pandemic is officially over. The streets are full. If you don't think its wise OK, you've said it but then how would you want to mark and remember the season?~

Nothing. Don't we normally have an end of season parade with a trophy? Is this going to happen? In this season because of Covid, it may take CIty fans to push for it to happen.
It isnt over. It is vastly improved, because unnecessary mass gatherings like this are not happening

due to the op completely changing the context of the thread this looks like a very bad reaction to the important workers that have helped during the pandemic,

Instead of fuck united were not sharing

It now looks like fuck nhs were not sharing

and should be deleted, I also think marvin deserves a ban, this looks bad and knowing the press could be spun in a terrible way, especially at this sensitive time for the club and fans
Seriously?

I changed the topic because I really wanted an end of season event and regreted the MAn Utd element. I wanted something more than the usual City thing though because of all that happened.

If that is the type of reaction to suggestions, don't worry I'll ban myself.

I have nothing against Manchester or the country having a day of thank for ALL the people who have worked throughout this pandemic. The binmen, police, NHS, volunteers, food banks etc etc, its along list.
Also remembering the 100's that sadly lost they lives.

My posts on this thread were aimed at the opening post of celebrating with utd.

It's just been added to the Oxford English Dictionary.

Marvined.

Meaning. A Manchester City and United event.

I just want to have that day out in Manchester, and share the collective memories of this year, and this season with other City fans, and look forward together.

An also ideal occasion to say thank you to Kun Aguero and David Silva.

If I take a good idea, present it badly then it's up to you to put it back on track and make it better. So thank you.

Are we doing this?

Hold it at the Etihad. Season ticket holders and citizens who have had 1 or 2 jabs. Or City fans who haven't had a jab, have to have a covid test before being allowed into the ground. Everyone has to wear a mask.

If that is what people want. I think it would be OK in the open air by end of May. We'd have to watch what's going on though.

Well odds on we win a trophy this season.

I am unlikely to be able to see City play this season. 10k in an empty stadium doesn't appeal. 250k on the streets of Manchester does appeal. But I am not sure it happens this season unless we force it.

We have no meeting places. Nowhere where we can discuss it so I suggest here. If someone wants to make a better case for it then go for it. Get something pinned on Bluemoon and get it organised.
No doubt the council and police will do their utmost to prevent any celebration , and without trying to be disrespectful to the NHS or the people who have lost their lives by the time any planned event could be organised there should be 90% of the country vaccinated. When the f*ck do we let our hair down (yes ive still got some!),we have had lockdown on and off for over a year.
Surely our own relief and enjoyment is a factor , or do we put our lives on hold for the forseeable , if 50k turn up at the Etihad on a set time and date the police could do very little , to some this appears inappropiate but i have also lost two good friends and a close relative to this disgusting virus , and i know for a fact none of them would want me to put my life on hold for eternity.
Its not disrespectful ,its called getting on with our lives.

Well maybe that's the benefit of having this discussion. If a lot of blues share that opinion then it's not going to happen. I respect that opinion. I feel it's safe and at some point all of us, no matter who we are need to start living and being hopeful again. That time is close.

It would be outdoors. We could delay till JUne. We could ask all fans to be vaccinated. We can do things safely together. If infection rates start to rise we can cancel it.

If there are some aspects we don't like, think of things that are safe that we can do. Ticketed events at small locations around the City linked together by a big screen. Shambles, Castlefield Area, st peters Sq, Piccadilly, the Etihad. I am sure it can be done. Get an on-line working party on it and post all the suggestions and at the end cherry pick the best.

There is one way to include some rags.
Chain 10 of em to the front of the bus and make em drag it round town whilst being whipped by City fans dressed as centurions

Well at least I entertained you on a Saturday morning and we discussed something important

What a great idea , then we can thank our key workers in person, police, horses, ambulance drivers, nurses, doctors and in more serious cases of stabbing + gun shots our hard working surgeons, bravo .
