Erling Haaland

The amount of money it would take to get him this season I feel would be insane, based on reports we've seen.

If its someone else at a cheaper price with high potential then sure I'm okay with that, but I also like the option of using what we have, Giving Ferran more chances as a striker since he's impressed well there, dipping into the academy and giving Delap a chance (probably one of the best PL2 strikers in that league), and then the season after brining him in.

That's just my mentality I guess, I prefer us using the players we have as much as possible, I think Ferran and Delap can add the required depth in that position next season.
I'm sure he's got the highest goals ever in a PL2 season, and that's before it's finished. Even if his ceiling is Calvert-Lewin level, that's still saved us £50+mil and a homegrown slot.

I'd love Haaland but don't understand why everyone thinks that if we don't get him we're in trouble

We need a new striker, but without one we are causing to the title and into the Semi-finals of the champions league

You could also arguable our squad is the best blend of young/prime in the world....

As I said before, not fussed if we hold out to try get him when he's a bit more affordable....as long as he doesn't join either the dipper or rags

You always have to improve the team and squad when you win the title. It’s easy to say look how good we are now but things can sometimes drop off a bit the year after.

Look at the 11/12 and 13/14 seasons. We thought we were great but failed to bring in any top signings the following summers and suffered because of it.

After 17/18 we brought in Mahrez who was a much better addition than the likes of Sinclair.

As someone who has watched far too much of La Viola this season for my own sanity, let me say no thank you. A quarter of his goals have come from the spot and most of his goals have come against weaker teams.

Well there are reports most of the top English clubs as well as Juve and Milan are looking at him.

How good is Delap though, if delap can develop like foden has, I would rather go for harry kane.

Delap is playing against kids in a none contact league. He could turn out to be better than Haaland, as good as Haaland or worse than Haaland. I think the chances of Delap being better than Haaland are about 0.05%, as good as Haaland about 0.25% and worse than Haaland 99.70%.

And I actually want him to do well. So fingers crossed that we have another miracle like Phil Foden quality.

Posted this on another thread but Sevilla look to have a gem up front Youssef en Nesyri 17 goals this season 23 years of age. Very composed in front of goal been watching them all season he's quality could be a brilliant alternative to Haaland.

Only watched him against Dortmund and he scored a superb goal. Been reported as an alternative earlier.
Is he a "proper" 9, or more of an inverted-winger? Always had the impression he was the latter

A hybrid I'd say pops up on the wing but likes to run in behind his finishing under pressure is what makes him so good against Levante this week, took it around the keeper while a defender was covering and just slotted it in the net. Surprisingly fast and strong in the air.

I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that wanting to talk about every striker anyone has ever watched that didn’t suck, but maybe move that discussion to the “New Striker” thread and not the individual players’ threads

This rag claims we're looking at the Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic as an alternative,
he's a 6ft 3" Bosnian 21 years old.

He is Serbian, mate. Good job we don't have any Balkan superfans at the moment. :)

Reminds me of young Dzeko to an extent, perhaps more athletic, but the way he moves and scores is very similar. Don't think he suits our style though, and too early in his development I think.

I rather doubted that we'd be in for Haaland - because we've never, ever - under recent management pursued top-priced talent - instead our management has identified very talented players who are undervalued and then attempted to sign them.

Moreover, because Pep has stated publicly that we're not in position to pursue Halaand due to economic constraints - and since I've yet to witness any false statements from Pep (lying is not in his nature) - I think that the likelihood of Halaand joining our side in the next window - approaches near zero.

The only likelihood for us possibly signing Halaand is that he somehow expresses fondness for our club (his father played for us) and desires very much to play under a Pep-led side.

Still - I think the likelihood for us signing Halaand is less than 1% - it's not going to happen.

You missed out the important bit "at the price being quoted".

He is amazing. Nice footwork unique bodytype with some moves. Sometimes it looks like he is glitching thru the field. Imo very underrated and the reason why Sevilla is just 4 points behind Atlético and still in the title fight.
