I seriously cannot understand why folk think they are closing the gap !!!!! I honestly think they have massively overachieved..........
Yes, they have overachieved, and they have also been getting away with some absolutely scandalous decision making from the referees...again.
Their cheating has increased tenfold from last season: the sheer brutality of the fouls they are seemingly allowed to get away with is disgusting. The kicks, the elbows in the face, the wrestling of opponents when defending corners and other dead ball situations - it has all the hallmarks of the Pisscan being in charge again. That same total disregard for another professional player’s career (which was the Govan depot’s stock in trade) is now the basis for their ‘style’ of play. And yet the officials never seem to see what the rest of us do, exactly as it was when that deranged tyrant was in charge.

They have overachieved because -as ever- there is a definite reluctance from referees to apply the rules of the game fairly and squarely when the rags are involved.

Just saw the Shaw handball, can anyone explain why it was not a penalty? Absolute stonewall to me.

Completely discredits VAR when shít like this happens, the only reason I can see is that everyone involved with VAR in this match was clearly cheating in open view on behalf of united, zero other reasons not to give.
Deffo pen.

On another point, can the dips mathematically win us the Prem at the swamp?

Be a bit of a double whammy. ;)

Mike Dean on Var, look at his officiating in previous Rag games ie Brighton and Southampton. Referee pointing to above sleeve as told by Var where evidence shows clear penalty And hit below arm, so this is on VAR And Dean. Total corrupt and needs investigating but will be ignored as usual.

You seem surprised .

And how do you think they got to 2nd in the PL ?

If the Rags don't win against Roma on Thursday they are in danger of going out of the only competition that they could win, this will be their prioity and as such will have to go strong. If we can get the win against Palace on Saturday then even they know the league is done and the will rest players against the dippers.

I have a feeling that next Sunday will be a very nice day for us,

Your post is bang on about how The Red Filth have got away with this sort of play down the years, especially under Ferguson. I was reminded of when I attended a game against Norwich at OT in 1993 when my United supporting brother-in-law had a spare ticket.

This was the season after The Red Filth had won their first Premiership and when Norwich were making waves with their great, open football revolving around Jeremy Goss and (dare I say it!) Gary Megson in midfield, with Ruel Fox and Chris Sutton up front. The previous year they'd finished 3rd behind United and when they went to OT that day they were still close to the top with games in hand. And this was also the season they beat Bayern Munich in the UEFA Cup. They were a good side under Mike Walker, very pleasing to watch.

They really took the game to United and just after half-time Fox scored a penalty to make it 2-2. United were really struggling to keep them out, even at times to get the ball back off Norwich.

My brother-in-law and I were sitting in the front rows of what was the first cantilever stand built there, towards the Stretford End. After about 15 minutes of the second half, with it becoming increasingly obvious that Norwich were most likely to win the game, there was a short stoppage due to an injury. Ferguson called Cantona over to the touchline for a word. Cantona then quickly went around every United player transmitting instructions before play restarted. I said to my brother-in-law 'I think United are rattled.. this will be interesting!'

What followed was the worst 20 minutes of 'football' I've ever seen, with every (and I mean every) United player taking out at least one opponent wherever the ball went. Harshest treatment was reserved repeatedly for Fox, with Goss not far behind. Gary Megson was trampled on in one challenge by Brian McClair. Chris Sutton approached the referee at one point to complain about the stuff The Red Filth were meting out but, as ever, got short shrift from the referee. They just kicked Norwich out of their stride and as a result got a point, avoiding a damaging defeat to a rival at the top of the table. And the only player booked that day was Norwich's keeper, for time-wasting if I remember correctly!

Many on here will have seen the video of United doing the same, calculated thing to Arsenal in that infamous game when Mike Riley bent over for them as referee. The Norwich game, in my view, was just as bad. A few weeks later, just after Christmas, Walker went to Everton and Norwich lost their way in the title race.

Of course, that lot across town have never been called out for their use of sly thuggery down the years, with the press/media continuously eulogising the 'United Way'. Whereas when you compare it to the media coverage of City nowadays, that Fernandinho and his pals at City with their 'systematic tactical fouling' ought to be taken out to the nearest gibbet and strung up.. it's the only language they understand..

Fantastic recollection mate brilliant post.

We have rattled the rags for over 10 years. They have spent most of that time trying to influence football using the premier league, refs, var, government, uefa and the cartel. It has got them the square root of fuck all.

Buy more show ponies with your leveraged debt to the yanks. Close only by your proximity to Manchester. Fuck off back to Trafford with your second place trophy. Might aswell have finished 17th in the league but I guess being the first loser is an accomplishment.

We dont want the scenario where the dips can "win us the title".....the fckers will be claiming some kind of entitled credit laa.

Funny though, that its the only way that a match between these fckers will decide the league, that rag/dipper title race that the media had a brief but frantic wank about is a distant memory now.

City, ruining red title race masturbation since 2008.........and long into the future with any luck.

There have been some embarrassing fannies on here the last few weeks.

"THEY WONT DROP ANOTHER POINT'

For. Fucks. Sake.
Haha
Yes you are right but I think there are mitigating circumstances.
Some of the fringe players and even Sterling have looked like they have lost all confidence in themselves.
With the run in to the premiership and cup final and champions League semi's coming up it was looking like we only had one team to achieve everything.
Sterling in particular was looking like he couldn't hit a cows arse with a banjo, I think that's how the saying goes haha.
(Maybe it's the donkey's arse with a ukulele)
Mendy looks like he's never played football before, Torres looked completely lost and even Cancello was looking very dodgy, add to this a return of mistakes by John stones, KDB suddenly injured, and it just all added up to us fucking everything up in these last few games.
No one can really blame city fans especially long-term fans from getting edgy, it's in our DNA.
Some of us even remember that gypsy curse that hung around Maine road all those years.
It was great to see the Trafford Dodgers drop points at Leeds today.
Hopefully normal service has been resumed.
