The Spanish police confirmed the two bodies were Mr and Mrs Thurwell. It's pretty funny that so many people think that Thurwell has now infiltrated the Guardia Civil and they fooled the Brits into thinking he was dead when really he was working with them. He's dead!

With Arnott I think the underlying story isn't really the test or what he was taking but whether or not Hastings asked for the AC-12 staff to be tested to warn Steve to steer clear of the Corbett's. It came at a time when Hastings was under attack and there was a lot of paranoia around that he was up to no good (there still is from Steve).

I still think Steph has a huge play in all this. There were a few characters who had little or nothing to do with this episode that will feature heavily next week.

Only way to salvage this is if Carmichael is in fact the only good cop and exposes the whole thing due to her incisive and focussed approach. Hastings has been emotional and pretty useless throughout but not corrupt. Not likely but would be unexpected and gives a fresh focus for a new series...

This season is supposed to wrap up the OCG links to police arc, so you could be onto something.
