Really happy with that team. Shame no Zinchenko, but it was always between him and Cancelo for left back, one would have to miss out
 
I was thinking earlier today, that if the full backs were cancelo and walker, that maybe walker might be the left back tonight, to man mark mbappe. I'm probably totally wrong.
Can't wait for the game, should be a cracker. Nervous about the result tho.
I think people forget we are one hell of a great team at counter attacking but we rarely get the chance to show it, but tonight we might as I think they will go toe to toe with us. Score could be anything from a 5-0 to a 0-5 and everything inbetween

I prefer Dias on the left, even though right footed.

Stones playing means we can open up both sides of the pitch.

There is something still about Laporte in big games which seems to unnerve him.
 
Areas of concern:
Our pace in midfield compared to their counter-attacks. Needs big performances from Walker and Cancelo to help out Rodri when they win the ball back.
Our finishing. We’ve got to take our chances!

If we do well in both of those areas tonight, we will put ourselves in with a great chance of heading back to the Etihad with a positive score line.

Big game for John tonight, Mbappe likes running that channel inbetween the right full back and right sided centre back. Needs to be bang on it, as does walker.

Nice way to look at it.
The only thing i'd add is this is a great chance to win the CL, and if it doesn't happen now there's a feeling it never will under Pep.
 
Close call on Zinchenko vs Cancelo but I think we've gone with the right one. Don't mind this, like the lineup a lot.

I rate Veratti very highly, Pep would have loved him. Navas is probably a better traditional keeper than Eddie. Apart from that I think we are the superior team on paper. Make no mistake though, they are a superb team with a huge threat going forward. Will be very hard this

It was a tough call with those 2. If either or both were in the team there wouldn't have been many complaints. I would have played both and dinho but it's just preference. As long as KDB is false 9 and not Silva. Pep may throw a curveball somewhere he usually does.
