So true mate.I saw a decent article a couple of months back (Marcotti's IIRC) that said perhaps a better way to look at it was that Pep simply thinks a lot.
The fact that Pep thinks deeply about the game is one of the things that makes him a great coach. That he may appear to do more of it than normal with later stage UCL games is perhaps down to the nature of the opponents being faced.
I didn't see anyone accusing Pep of "overthinking" when he sat us deep at The Bernabau last season and played Jesus as a midfielder. Nobody accused him of "overthinking" when he moved Gungogan back to second holding midfielder during the sceond half at Anfield this year. Etc. Etc.
If he didn't "overthink" he'd have "no plan B" or have "been found out" or be a "busted flush".
I always imagine 23 year old Man United fans in the pub keeping half an eye on some game on a grainy screen in the corner parrotting these cliches to each other.
