It's not harsh, it's accurate. he's not having a go at him for it, he's simply saying you'd expect to score at least one from the opportunities he had tonight. You could see in his own reaction he knew he should have scored tonight.

He’s still got a lot to improve on. But worked very hard and still did some good things. Looked a bit inexperienced tonight though (which he is).
