And won us the league at Southampton.

He isnt a traditional striker,he runs defences ragged with his movement and tenacity, and weighs in with important goals.....i'm not sure why folk are finding that hard to understand.

His offsides are frustrating,as are the occasional lack of end product, but he's a player of substance,he makes an impact when he plays - he should not be receiving the amount of criticism some are intent on ensuring.
Huge heart and a work ethic that should be better appreciated; his closing down of defenders and shutting down of angles is highly effective but that work always go unnoticed. He’s not a thirty-goal-a-season striker and Guardiola will sacrifice him when he needs that extra midfielder to condense the game, but I hope he stays for many more seasons.

Can he not do both? Score goals and all that stuff that you mention. I feel like pep doesn't like his lack of goals either as he always used to mention it and now hes not playing in the big games .

i really like gabby i do. works his socks off, chipped in in some hugely important moments!

But, he's just not got that cutting edge/killer instinct in front of goal on a consistent basis. Unfortunately you cant rely on the guy week in week out which is why he's found himself benched the past month or so in the important games.

With the way we are currently set up, I‘m not sure anyone could score 30 goals a season. He performed admirably as a centre foil when we had Sane and Sterling working in tandem, whose collective pace created more space, but now Guardiola has struck upon a system where the typical striker is largely redundant.

Not the worst performance but still probably not good enough. If he is happy to be a support act, then i'd be more than happy to see him stay.

I just don’t see a place for him at city he works hard but he is not a striker at the level we are now aiming for

If we could get a decent fee in the summer I’d move him on, can only see him slipping further down the pecking order

Regressed a bit this season, no doubt about it.
He’s started holding onto the ball too much and invariably loses it.
Big year next year for him.

Seeing them side by side and having him as sole striker for a year anyone still think he can replace sergio? A half fit sergio is a world apart
Very true.

But I still don’t think Jesus is a #9, or even a false9. I think he’s ideal for a wide forward position, always done well for us there.

Quiet game today. Think he didn't really understand his role, drifted out wide a lot when he found Sergio in spaces he would ordinarily occupy. Not in great form but there's not a chance we are getting rid, Pep adores him and rightly so. He's the Bernardo of our front line, when he plays and plays well, the entire attack benefits immeasurably.
