Paris Saint-Germain (H) - CL SF | Post-Match Thread

Hahahhaha sky sports hardly showing anything the cunts apart from a yellow ticker more interested in the glazers and Maureen. BT sports get alot of stick but sky are on a different level arse holes
Its Sky and we aint one of the holy 4 so there will be nothing to see there. Too busy pandering to maureen, spitty and ratboy to bother with real news

We got what we deserved over the two legs. I've been saying for years that our central defence & LB situation kept costing us. Yes we can score, but several times it was our defence who were ultimately our achilles heel.

Guardiola deserves massive praise for keeping it simple, & not over-thinking the occasion as he's done in the past. PSG reminded me of City in the past. Dangerous, brilliant on the ball but with a soft defensive underbelly & mentally frail.

MoTM?? Mahrez obviously deserves a mention, but Zinchenko was monstrous tonight, alongside Dias, Stones & Walker. Just when we needed to show our defensive strength, our defence showed up, & stood firm & tall.

Phil Foden.... What a player! Silva linking up with Mahrez ran them ragged. Tonight wasn't KDB's most dominant game, but he made a key pass, & it was his thwarted effort which deflected to Mahrez for the opener.

Finally Happy Birthday to Fernandinho! What a player, & what a performance for a 36 year old! Jermaine Jenas had me in stitches when on 89 minutes he remarked how the hell Fern hadn't been booked. As I keep on saying he's quietly been the glue which gelled us over the last 7-8 years & his influence, performances & tactical fouls should rightly be things of legend.

I'm not getting too excited, as we have another 90 minutes to successfully complete. Neither Real or Chelsea will be an easy Champions League Final opponent, but as I said with PSG, they've got as much to worry about City, as we have of them.

Finally a thanks to the fans who showed up tonight. Rumours were rife that the Rags were gonna rear their ugly heads & start some grief, but trust me they'd have got wasted if they tried anything.

Roll on Istanbul. :-)

What is there to say.

One more game to go but enjoy tonight, they are obviously rare.

Myself right now I am very happy but i also remembering a few lads we lost in the last year to Covid and other illnesses.

They would have loved this:

Arthur, Andy, Mark - here's to you all

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

YOU CAN‘T SAY THE “OVER THINKING” LINE!

;-)

If Pep managed to remake, coerce, persuade, threaten, or whatever...Riyad Mahrez to play and improve like he's been doing this season, it is scary, but very intriguing thought, how it would look with Neymar. But the whole team has been playing like one huge, monster organism, eating everything in front of it.
My office colleague is a Leicester City, the only LC supporter I ever met down here in London, and he's been just telling me how shocking it is to compare Riyad when how he was playing then, to how he's been playing now. I am so fucking happy. CTID!
I’ll hold my hand up and say I was most definitely of the FFS Mahrez persuasion. I never thought he would fit in.
But most definitely this year, he has become a go to man. He is playing our team game and seems to be relishing it and embracing it.
It not just the goal threat he brings, he is linking up and assisting, where in the past he would always look to go on his own.

His defensive work tonight was really good and shows he is embracing the Pep message.

As for Zinchenko. Think Zabaleta.
Stayed when many of us would have gladly let him move on.
He fills so many functions for Pep and I genuinely believe he bleeds blue for this team.

Pep has created a true team where the sum of the parts is greater than any individual stars. And they are all buying into it.

Not sure if they mentioned it on BT bit Mbappe wasn’t playing.
Did anyone hear them talk about it?

That narrative was so overplayed- because he had such an impact in the first leg... I guess we will never know what contribution he’d have made tonight but interesting that it is the UK media holding this up as an excuse but Poch has dismissed it.
