Show of support planned before PSG and Chelsea games

Try Manchester Fireworks in Sale (Washway Road near the M60).

My mate owns it and he is busy buying up all the blue smoke bombs around the country as there is a national shortage due to the Rangers fans!!
I know the shop! I'll try and get down there today.

I was a bit of a sceptic about this when the thread first appeared. I thought it would be a bad turn out, a bit cringe as a result and wouldn't look great. How wrong I was. The photo's Karl Vallantine has put on the MEN and what others who were there put on Facebook and the like, it looked amazing. I can only see it being bigger on Saturday. Well done all.

Considering the appalling weather, freezing cold, windy, constant heavy rain, hail stones, it was a good turnout. Everybody was absolutely soaked wet through.

Most people were on the side and corner of the road close to Mary'd's.

Overall the welcome was loud, bouistross, passionate and good natured. Fireworks, flares, and smokies were going off constantly. When the team coach appeared it went mental.(see pictures below)

There were a few moments of silliness. One empty can, and some empty smokie cases were thrown across the road. Right at the end a dickhead, yes you, whoever you are, threw an empty bottle, which got booed, along with shouts of stop it, etc. There wasn't much social distancing or many face masks being worn. Certainly not amongst the youth, who looked well turned out.

GMP were out in force, but were happy just to marshall the fans, bar the usual shouts of "get off the road!", and pushing people away.(how am I supposed to take pictures? ;-) ) I didn't see a single arrest.

The highlight of the evening was not seeing a single MIB in Zebra pants. And to be honest, they would have got smashed by City.

Great pics, but the good old mask wearing debate

Well done blues the weather was shocking!

The one size fits most sounds a bit worrying! ;-)
That bit did make me chuckle too. Not sure it's that kind of "inflatable" though!?

I reckon one, or more, of those filled with blue smoke coming out of it's, er, valve(arse), would look great and make a great photo. Put a kids rag shirt on it just for the extra detail.

Not sure how you'd manage getting the smoke into it though...?

Just thought, I've got a large inflatable "8" from my daughter's birthday...

8 Years since they last won the league...

Edit: Could put the zebra's head through it, like a millstone...

Just seen the Chelsea fans meet before there game against Real Madrid, it didnt look as good as ours .

@jrb thanks for those photos. Love the one of the policeman just above the video. He looks as if he’s applauding you all. :-)

No probs. Thanks to everyone. If I can be arsed I might take some pictures from the bridge on Saturday. Unfortunately the weather is going to be bad again. Rain is forecast.
