He runs about a lot and is a plucky character and honest as the day is long , but that isnt good enough for a european elite team , why Pep plays him in big games is a mystery he doesnt have any influence when he is up against decent centre backs. He is a squad player , Carabao Cup / FA Cup / Champs league qualifiers and playing bottom six sides is his level , he will still play 25-30 games a season and notch a goal every other game , which isnt too shabby.
He will never replace Aguero or be as good as a Halland , Levandowski , Mbappe and these are the standard of striker we need when Aguero leaves , would never sell the lad he is valuable as a squad player ,but if Pep makes the mistake of playing him in must win games , then that is Pep's fault not Jesus.

Compared to the player who came on to get that goal in the final game of the centurions season he’s about 60% as effective.

It's amazing how people persist with their preconceived opinions even though Jesus was good yesterday. Are people actually watching games or are completely unable to see what's happening on the pitch blinded by their opinions?

Had Aguero scored the pen, Jesus would have contributed to two goals against the team in the best defensive form in Europe, while playing without a proper midfield behind him at that. He did his job. It's Pep, Aguero and the referees who didn't do theirs.

He was incredible as a poacher in that first season. Now he plays further and further back he barely even has a shot. So frustrating watching him

Wonder if he is happy being the worker bee and not the no 9 striker
Nothing wrong with that could be a very valuable squad player especially if he can up his goal count up a bit. Might be better out wide in that worker bee (as you described it) position. If he ends up being someone who plays all across the front 3 and scores about 15 league goals a season i think that would be a very good return but for our main number 9 obviously not.

I think this season sums up everything and gives us a clear picture about Jesus..

I for example, after last season believed that he could become a superstar and this would be his breakthrough season, but somehow after the glimpses of hope in a Wolves game and then during January-February period when he started to score some goals - he couldn't do it..

April was like "make or break" month for him and unfortunately he failed there.. Couldn't deliver against Chelsea in FA semi-final, wasn't good against Leeds and the fact that he hasn't scored since March - means that in the most important part of the season, we aren't getting any decent contribution from him. Contribution that you can expect from the main striker and not a squad player for example.

So, I feel that club will be using him in a "player + cash" deal this summer.. Because.. he is not that good to be a main striker and to be fair.. too good to be a squad player.
