Erling Haaland

Given that they're reportedly asking for around 100 M € for Sancho, reasonably reachable for United,Chelsea, that 15-20 M € or so is hardly a substantial discount off their 'asking' price lol to use as leverage even, given that an offer imo would have to be too good to turn down, nearer to 200 M € than 100 M € and imo no one comes up with such a package (well north of 200 M €,
agent fees and wages included) this summer. As much as he feels that he is ready to take the next step and win titles,he is hardly desperate to leave this summer..still young, the main man for a decent club, will continue to score for fun in that league and will be playing in the CL..and he'll have of this choice of clubs at his feet next summer anyway, and him and his entourage will know that so can't him throwing a fuss about it if BVB tell him privately it's either offer X/you stay.
Like I said,If/when Sancho leaves, unless a stupidly crazy offer arrives and turns their head,BVB will feel, that having Erling gives them a bigger chance of finishing in the top 4 next year, winning the BuLi or Pokal and going far in the CL,and also bring in finances that come with progression/winning,and moreso with a new manager coming in,can't see them handicapping him and letting both of their star players go
What message to agents? Unreliability? Lol its just business, nothing personal, not a love triangle.
BVB & agents understand that. It's a contract,it's hardly a prison sentence, the message is come with a substantial offer and you'll leave or be smart and insert a release clause then, else you'll leave on their terms.
There are only so many times I can make the same points on this thread. Your whole point is based on the assumption that Watzke isn’t bluffing and they want to keep him. I am fairly confident it’s a shameless bluff, everyone involved knows it and they are preparing to move forward. I have been speaking to Dortmund fans who know a lot about how the club operates and they’re all sure he’s going this summer, even if it frustrates Dortmund’s fee expectations.
We will see what happens

This guy is a Dzeko type of player. He will score goals, but his overall play will not fit our system. Mbappé is twice the player. He scores, creates chances and is very dangerous in his overall play.

Wait and see.

sure. i see this soap opera finishing like the jorginho's and koulibaly's affair, those ended pretty good for city, with cheaper, younger and better players. I think that in this case city might opt to get a stopgap.

Theres a big if though, if dortmund fails to qualify for the champions league then all bets are off, they improved their positioning lately though, lets see how it ends

This, too, has been discussed to death here and shown the difference from those affairs to this opportunity now. An opportunity like this won’t come along anytime soon.
As for the UCL qualification, while I don’t think it will play any role, it should be noted that Dortmund’s two remaining games are tougher than Frankfurt’s two. Wolfsburg also has two tough games.

id argue it would cause they could make some of the money they will lose by not selling Haaland this summer. Anyway, i would not like to be their ceo and face their fans after he sells sancho and Haaland in the same window

Sancho was really supposed to have left last summer.
Like I said in other posts, their fans (talk to them!) all know they’re most likely both leaving anyway, as that is how they operate. They don’t get attached easily.

I doubt we'll sign Haaland this summer if Dortmund get CL football which makes the decision to basically tell Sergio he won't be needed next season seem a bit hasty. If we decide to wait a year and pay the release clause then surely Aguero would've been a perfect option to have for certain games.

Haaland comes next season Pep only has one year left doesn’t he? So Pep extension as well?
A lot will depend upon the final result, if he wins, is his job briefing fulfilled?

Or will be stay and want to be a serial Champions League winner?

Watching how he celebrated their winning goal at the weekend makes me think it's because it affects whether he himself plays Champions League football next season, ie - he's gonna stay one more year with them.

It wouldn't be a complete shock if Haaland did stay for another season. Dortmund might even try and renegotiate a new deal with either a bigger release clause or it being removed altogether.

People here have this weird image that a player must be in absolute misery in order to leave a club. That has been the Messi thread all year “oh, he looks sad... he’s leaving” “oh he’s smiling, no way he leaves!”. These things are totally unrelated. The “winning goal” was by... Jadon Sancho, who also celebrated effusively, and is also leaving. It’s the team he’s at the moment, his friends etc. Of course he’s happy. Just like Aguero would celebrate if we won the UCL.
And even though I maintain that it ultimately won’t matter, I want to repeat that Dortmund has a more difficult two final games to qualify than Frankfurt, and only one point ahead
