Wife happens to ring local dr surgery asked if I could have the jab (29 so not my turn yet) said they had some left over Pfizer slots for Friday. Not gonna lie pretty nervous as suffer from pretty bad anxiety issues but I know I need to get this done! Any words from other members who have had the jab appreciated! Thanks

It feels like a tiny scratch.

Have a few beers after the jab so if you have any side-effects you won't be able to tell the difference :)

Has anybody had the AZ jab and not been ill after it? Seems everybody I know had the side effects
Me. Had my first shot mid Feb and apart from a twinge in my upper arm for a couple of hours two days after then absolutely nothing. I had my second shot last week and no reaction whatsoever.

I didn't have anything. In fact I started to get a bit worried they might have missed as I didn't feel the injection in the first place.

After a couple of days if I put pressure on the arm it felt a tiny bit tender, but it was as good as I could have hoped for.

GM Weekly Pop Data after today:~

Borough / Pop Today / 7 days ago / up or down wk to wk/ Testing is % of local population who have tested positive for Covid over past year.

As ever with Pop going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.

Bolton 169 / 81 / UP 88 Testing positive 9.3%

Rochdale 50 / 37 / UP 13 Testing positive 9.7%

Manchester 41 / 35 / UP 6 Testing positive 9.7%

Salford 33 / 36 / DOWN 3 Testing positive 9.0%

Trafford 31 / 50 / DOWN 19 Testing positive 7.0 %

Stockport 30 / 21 / UP 9 Testing positive 7.2%

Oldham 27 / 30 DOWN 3 Testing positive 9.8%

Wigan 27 / 24 / UP 3 Testing positive 8.9%

Tameside 24 / 24 LEVEL Testing positive 8.2

Bury 22 / 23/ DOWN 1 Testing positive 9.1%

Bolton still climbing away from the rest 119 ahead of second and another 2021 record high weekly rise of 88.

Stockport as Zoe App predicted has been creeping up but not yet really showing what Zoe suggested as the most cases in GM even ahead of Bolton. Right now that looks absurd but......

Manchester has also been edging up a tad like Stockport but Rochdale at the moment have has risen in a manner that might hint at worse to come. Hopefully not.

Wigan also has started to edge up but to a smaller degree.

Oldham and Bury are stable or slightly falling.

But Trafford has had the best week falling from big heights with a but of a hiccup today to watch going forward..

Some muppet who's provided excellent balance and research throughout the pandemic, if anything could be criticised for being overly positive at times. His followers include the highly respected John Burn-Murdoch of the Financial Times and a considerable amount of verified accounts of people from scientific backgrounds.

It always absolutely amazes me that people will lap up whatever positive news they see but anything that can be considered slightly negative (and that's what this is btw, a far cry from 'scaremongering') and everyone's automatically looking for reasons to completely dismiss it.

Perhaps instead, have a look through his previous tweets and the type of people he's engaged in conversation with over that platform, and if you still want to completely ignore it then that's up to you.

Ill have a look, maybe I was too quick just make a judgment from what you have said.

Well I was very ill for a start with all the symptoms from the end of March last year. But didn't have a positive test. Also, the general medical opinion* is that those who had Covid have a much rougher time with the first jab than the 2nd, whereas those who haven't had it genrally have a rougher time with the second jab. There are exceptions of course but tgere you go.
* = My daughter is a medical registrar on the Covid wards but is a consultant from August and this is where the opinion comes from.
Thanks, I wasn’t questioning whether you had it, I was just intrigued why you reaction to the vaccine made her think it showed you probably had it, not heard that about the reaction to first and second jabs. I didn’t have any reaction to my first, not even a sore arm, don’t what that means but don’t think I had covid either.

I genuinely try to be careful with links I post and who the author is. I've stopped posting, (infact stopped reading) anything from Prof Fiegl Ding, despite him being a verified epidemiologist with half a million followers - purely because I find him far too alarming. Perhaps it'll be the boy who cried wolf and some time he will actually have posted something very relevant that people will miss, because they've gave up on his alarming tone and no longer pay any attention.

This quoted account might not have a significant amount of followers but it's one I've followed for a while and as I say if anything can be very positive, I'm sure that won't be the first time I've linked to him on here but maybe the first time where he's used a slightly negative tone and I've done so. Probably why i found it worthwhile posting - because its unlike him - but as I say I find his comments a little disconcerting and not scaremongering.

Anyway, if cases are rising and hospital admissions have plateaued or shown the slightest of rising, let's hope it can all get back on track asap.

Sure we'd get to the bottom of it in the next couple of weeks, Indian variant, just a bump as we open or otherwise.

Oh I know mate I'm over the fucking moon really. Just hearing loads of people's side effects off it. Couple of days on the sofa it is

I know more people who had no side effects. Record/download a few films, programmes etc., and take a day or two sick leave, whether the you have side effects or not.

I had a (light) hangover type feeling for a day. I did have a few pints after the jab though.

The side effects are probably not much different to what people suffer after a flu jab. I would suggest some people are soft or over exagerrate for dramatic effect.

I was not 'ill' after the first jab. I was tired and slept great that night. But that was it.

Second AZ jab no after effects at all. Same from everyone I know who has had both. Minor things at most first time. Nothing noticeable on the second.
I was pretty much the same with only tiredness and feeling cooler following the first jab.

I still feel like shit! What a fucker this is. Out of breath walking 10 yards.

Got to laugh, just finished playing 7 a side tonight in Manc, stood in car park having a beer when lady comes out of vaccination clinic and said they had 2 doses left before they shut for tonight and was anyone due an AZ.

Me and mate both down for our second jabs at end of month so waltzed in, put our beer on the table whilst they filled our details in to the system, rolled up sleeve, in it went, and back in car park to finish beer, lol.
