As much as I’ve enjoyed tonight, it’s dawned on me that this is the first City title that my Dad doesn’t even comprehend because of his dementia. Bitter sweet, but I know deep down he’d be ecstatic if he realised. Tbh, think the last one probably passed him by too.View attachment 16580
So sad, I know where you’re coming from, I’d like to think that when you tell him you might see a glint in his eyes

The first time this has happened since 1936/37

My City supporting dad and Rangers supporting mum will be looking down with pride tonight.

My son is two months old. He hasn’t a clue what is going on but this is the best of the 5 we have won!

What a club!

13 years ago today, on May 11th, 2008, we lost 8-1 to Middlesbrough, while United won the title after beating Wigan 2-0. A few weeks later they would go on to win the CL against Chelsea. 13 years later, we clinch the title, and have a CL final against Chelsea to look forward to. What a reversal. Well done Pep and the players for making this possible.
Coldest bloody game ever, apart from Kiev obviously

Charity shields? Brilliant flowing football? Bought great players? Improved all of them? Ok so apart from 3 premier leagues, 1 fa cup, 4 league cups, a champions league final, charity shields, brilliant flowing football, great new players, improving all the players, what has Pep ever done for us?
Aqueducts?

must be very hard mate, you’re lucky to have a great dad and great memories, all the best

Yep, I was there as well. Our sense of humour was showing even in defeat when we were singing, we were going to win 8-9 or words to that effect! I also remember how flaming cold it was in their stadium! I travelled in a tee shirt but luckily had a jumper in my rucksack but a few other people were shivering. Weird stadium.

I was there too ... we were looking to sneak into the uefa cup via the fairplay route and Dunny got sent off - I seem to remember.

Walked out of an afternoon meeting and glanced at my mobile to see a text from a friend that said:

”Congrats to City on winning the Title”

Confused at first then I remembered that match today had an earlier kickoff. Sort of surreal really.

Think I’ll open the sunroof and blast some New Order on the drive home from the office. ;)
