That's simply not true. The data is provided above.

And this is not true either.

I'll step you through the figures. All are 7 day current averages taken from ourworldindata.

UK current vaccine doses per capita 80.72
Germany 45.64

Difference 35.08

Current German vaccination daily rate 0.94%

Time to vaccinate = (35.08/0.94) = 37 days.

Or just over 5 weeks.
All the data is here.
You're wong on just about every count.
Go ahead though and keep imagining how much better the EU is doing than the UK.
I shall snigger.
Oh and companies are producing the vaccine not countries. Moderna and Pfizer are US owned for example.

The figures I quoted are from that source. They directly contradict what you said.

You just haven't read what I actually wrote. I can't help you with that, I'm afraid.

The EU are currently vaccinating more people per capita than we are (there's a big dip on the last day of reporting, but that's normally an artefact and will almost certainly be updated later)

It's fascinating how powerful narrative is.

So I was absolutely right. You don’t think 60 to 94% efficacy is a big jump or one worth focusing on. Luckily you’re not in charge of the process. I’d be surprised if you’re in charge of your own bladder.

Reply if you want but I’m sticking you on ignore, there’s nothing to be gained from reading your ramblings and this is luckily the only thread you post on.
So,it really is Goodbye Roubaix Tuesday.

Not wanting to get involved in an argument, but I could just point out that that is clearly a rate of vaccination and not cumulative. So doesn't actually indicate that the EU has caught up so to speak?

God, I can't believe there are people on here measuring cocks about who's vaccine rollout is better.

Remember that the figures of people dying are real humans with families. It's not an us vs them situation. We're all in this together whether you're an EU citizen or UK.

We're lucky that the UK has vaccinated the most vulnerable in our four countries. We should be doing way more to help countries who are lagging behind and try to save as many lives as possible. The fact we're still importing AZ vaccines from India is sheer lunacy to me.
haha brilliant. made me chuckle.

Current cumulative figures as a %age of population, given UK has now vaccinated the most vulnerable it is inevitable that the rate will slow as take up drops off. Really glad the EU states seem to have sorted their issues and are now jabbing at rate and fully agree with @Manchester33 that as the we and the rest of the West as they catch us should be helping the poorer states.

Of course it doesn’t. It’s why his original post was totally irrelevant.

You can prove anything with complete data and cogent thought.

Agreed, and I tried to be very clear about that from the start, obviously without much success! I would be surprised if the EU as a whole does "catch up" however that's defined. Some countries will - Malta already has.

The reality of vaccination is that there's not likely to be that much in the end between us and most of the EU, and what there is may well come down more to hesitancy than supply.

Our long hard winter and spring lockdown has differentiated us from most of the continent - like Portugal - as much as our vaccination status.

It's interesting how hard it is to even discuss these issues here, such is the power of the British vaccine narrative.

Just read an article on the BBC webpage about the rising cases in Bolton. The journalist didn't mention a possible link with people coming back from India and spreading the Indian variant? Deprivation, bus routes, population density and young people attending colleges were seemingly given as a reason/cause why the rates have gone up? Mustn't be any of those factors elsewhere in the country then which is good news??

Depressingly they did however mention that Bolton's areas of lowest vaccine take up are now associated with the areas of highest cases which is worrying for people getting ill and possible future hospital admissions and people dying. If ever there was strong evidence of why people need to take the vaccine this is it.

I think they need to increase the vaccine distribution in these areas like Burnham said but also lock these parts of Bolton down for a couple of weeks, its currently a local problem and they need to try and do everything to try and keep it a local problem. The council and police need to patrol these areas educate people and enforce the lockdown.
People have to want to take the vaccine up. Sadly too many people have listened to multiple varieties of covidiot and that leads their communities being exposed to this disease.

7 England hospital deaths. With 1 from the NW.

Last week was 12 with 0, wk before 14 with 2 then 19 with 4.

The first single figure Friday number since late last Summer.

One of the 7 is over a month old too.

Perhaps a local lockdown is what is needed to make people realise that the only alternative is to get vaccinated.

Some people are just stupid.

More on England hospital deaths:

The NW death was in Tameside and Glossop (still none in Bolton btw - though early days but the longer this goes on the better)

NO other UK trust had more than 1.

3 were in NE & Yorkshire and the other 3 one each in London, Midlands and South West.

East and South East had 0.

1 of the 7 was aged 40 - 59 and 1 was over 80

The other 5 were 60 -79.

So you're actually saying that they have only caught up on our vaccination rate? That's not what catching up on vaccinations means in most people's heads.
I should bloody well hope they've caught up on the rate, as so far they've been woeful.
We had vaccinated their overall number of vaccinations (per capita) by late Feb.
How will catching up on rate of vaccination get them to catch up on the overall numbers?
We will vaccinate as many as they are at the same rate (per capita) so we will remain 3 months ahead till all those that need to be jabbed are jabbed. It really isn't rocket science let alone rocket engineering
