In the meantime is it too much to expect professional journalists from accurately reporting the ownership structure of our club? Sheikh Mansour has business interests all over the world including a major stake in the car firm Ferrari but you don't hear people referring to that as being "state owned."

I thought Fiat had re-acquired that stake - about 5-10%, I think.

In order to separate individual and state, the owner, Mansour himself, must be more visible at the stadium.
Maybe he will be at the chumps league final, but that should only be the start.
Regular visits to the games is what is needed.
Until that happens our ownership will be perceived as government state, by proxy. No matter what the reality is.
Of course in the past none of us seemed to know whether our majority shareholders were in attendance or not. We expected our chairman or CEO to be there and Khaldoon usually does attend, as does Ferran. But in the past did we ever make a big song and dance about whether David Makin (I’m sure he did attend every game but it wasn’t broadcast) or Stephen Boler (who kept Swales in power with his large shareholding) were there?

No media person pointed to our ownership and questioned whether they attended.

Bottom line is some newspapers want to sell content; some journalists want to get headlines and readers... MCFC and us fans are an easy target.

As someone who has received abuse off one of these so called professional journalists I’ve decided to ignore them. My words won’t stop them and their editors and owners (let’s not forget ALL newspapers are owned by someone and journalists have to write content that their editors and owners want otherwise they’d be moved on).

Let’s not fuel their need for readers and attention.

The point is City are just one of his many investments in his personal portfolio.
He also invests for a living for AD so many, many stakes in diverse sectors of global stock exchanges.

Why should we expect his attendance? Are we really that special compared to others and if so would he leave himself open to giving us special treatment perhaps giving ammo to those who claim our purchase was purely political.
That is also a good point. Sheikh Mansour's presence could incite the City haters even more. Would he also have to attend matches across the whole City Football Group as well. He can't win can he?
I do think Khaldoon could be more proactive though in promoting our strategy. He does very few media interviews but when he does he is very impressive.

Press and their Photographers

United have suspended photographers who followed anti Glazer protestors into Old Trafford because apparently they lacked accreditation. Is this unlike the trespassers and hooligans who clearly must have been accredited? You couldn`t make it up. Media colleagues are "infuriated" but what will happen?

It is well known that Ferguson bullied the press. Now the club want to ban the picture takers but not the pitch invaders. United`s PR Adviser, formerly of The Sun, Neil Ashton, has been manipulating their press relations since his appointment circa 18 months ago. The Sun and Utd are a great match. This one looks like an own goal though.

The wider issue is what punishment will United face for a PL match v Liverpool having to be postponed due to illegal disorder, trespass and inadequate security. This was continued with more disorder for the re-arranged match. There was a need for considerable GMP resources to be diverted from more important priorities in our conurbation. The media should be reporting on the importance of sanctions against the club which should now follow.

The club has to be called to account. Everyone has had enough of the United Way.

You may be correct but it is the broad principle I am arguing. He is also investing in the world's biggest renewable energy project (a huge wind farm) but all you hear about is "oil money."

Yes, quite agree with that, and I understood the point.

Just trying to limit inaccuracies which may get copied on further.

Sportswashing probably hadn't been invented when Fiat sold off chunks of Ferrari!

Maybe a few of these photos they took go against the narrative they are giving the PL over the incident?

This.
And moreover how often is John Henry, a Glazer or Stan Kroenke seen?

Yes and by controlling the picture taking they can also coin in on selling syndication rights. It’s the same covert controlling influence they exert by insisting broadcasters don’t show the blacked out upper sections of the swamp on Thursday European nights.

I see that story of us being investigated by the premier league died a death. Wonder if we've had a quiet word with certain organisations!
The story seemed to come from reporters reading Blue Moon and we've had no further information to provide them. You can hardly expect them to go out and discover stuff for themselves.

An appeal is going through the court system and , if no leaks (probably a contempt of court and both City and PL want confidentiality) it will be sometime before it raises it's head again.

An excellent post from @Chris in London here:

I really think we should just end the thread here, these people get off on their click bait articles and then watching us post all their tweets and talk about them.

I know it’s hard when they post such hypocritical & laughable articles but they really need to be ignored by us.
Just for the record, The Guardian`s writer, Nick Cohen, who recognised City`s beautiful football and success but then went on to undermine it was, according to public records, alleged to be "part of a circle of pernicious Islamophobic commentators". His article displays all the signs of being driven by Political motives

He was educated at Altrincham Grammar School and has spent most of his time in Islington, London. Maybe his football club allegiance is a factor too.

Click bait is an issue. Challenging with facts and evidence is not.

There does appear to be a certain lack of pure sports journalists around (Martin Samuel is probably the last of a dying breed). Agenda fuelled bigotry seems to be the accepted norm these days.

We've just won the title yet again, to follow our fourth successive Caraba0 cup win and we still get all sensitive about an article by a certain Nick Cohen or Dick Cohen or whoever he is. And yet the article is little more than a pack of lies from someone for whom we could have our own bingo card of reasons why he makes up rubbish about City. In fact all his article does is show the way City bingo has evolved over the years. City are now a great team, Guardiola is a great manager, our players are no longer mercenaries and so on. But City bingo has now come to rest upon our ownership and our funding. All lies, of course but the wisdom of the game has it that if the lie is big enough and it's repeated often enough people will believe it. Only they won't. Cohen knows he's talking bollocks. Conn has gone quiet since CAS blew his arguments to pieces and so have the rest. Every now and then they raise their heads and treat us to the same old lies with a minimum of a makeover. They are writing for rags, scousers and gooners especially, to comfort them as yhey sit among the ruins of their fallen empires. No doubt they will say that every word written by these journalists is true, but the events of the past weeks has shown that this is totally without any importance. Water off a duck's back. How much clearer could it be made that what concerns rags scousers and gooners has nothing to do with City's ownership? The fans of thes clubs are, in fact, obsessed by the inadequacies of their own owners. Gooners want Kroenke out, rags would lynch any Glazer they could get hold of but they'll never see a Glazer anywhere near the swamp and the scousers seem to have a fund of ill will towards FSG. Sheikh Mansour would be cheered to the rafters if he came to the Etihad again. City fans know very well what we have to thank him for and Khaldoon is to be seen regularly at the ground. So drone on Cohen and co we at City don't care.
