Harry Kane

Why would the signing of Harry Kane suddenly turn us into a long ball team?

Are you also suggesting that Kane is not a technical player?

I simply do not understand your logic against signing a top class forward.
I realise now that there are many things that you don’t understand. We’ll see how this plays out over the next months.

I don’t want him, I’ve never once questioned his ability.
I don’t want him even there’s no chance we get Haaland (my preferred choice).
I just can’t get excited by thought of him signing, underwhelmed is a word I’ve used already.
The price is playing a huge part in that, not his fault, not our money etc..
Don’t care, he’s gonna cost more than £100m, probably closer to £130m and I’d expect a younger more exciting, fitter player for that kind of money.
I also don’t buy into what everyone is saying about him transforming us, winning 4 premier leagues in a row, back to back champions leagues, 40-60 goals a season.
I just don’t see it.
He’ll score plenty, most half decent strikers would score a decent amount for us, we’re a strikers dream.
But with a fully fit and firing Sergio we never managed 4 premier leagues in a row and flattered to deceive in the CL.
No videos, posts or stats will convince me otherwise.
I don’t want him.
To be clear that doesn’t mean I won’t support him if he arrives, he’ll be a blue so will get my support.
I’ve supported some right useless lazy wankers who’ve played for us through the years, so that won’t change regardless of how I feel : )

I just don't see us doing this sort of (Kane or Haaland) hyped up deal. All our big signings iirc have been done quickly, quietly, with minimum fuss, and long before the player concerned had a 100,s / 1000's pages long thread on here.

Is it being hyped up? Kane has said he wants out. Nothing else has been said.

The next step could be Harry playing the harmonica in his signing video.

Haha only people having a good whinge in here are when people say they don’t want Kane, then it’s why not, he’s great, he’ll score...
If people want Kane then they’re obviously great and right, if people say they don’t want Kane they’re obviously mad.
People have opinions and feelings which differ, mine are quite clearly different than yours, doesn’t make you right, doesn’t make me right.
Still won’t change my opinion or feeling.

Kdb, Sterling, Mahrez (two windows) and Walker where all fairly long protracted transfers and thats just off the top of my head. This is following a very similar pattern imo

Really? - I honestly don't remember them getting near the proportions of the pogba or messi threads / debacles.

City would’ve briefed by now if there was no interest.

Their silence says it all. I’d hazard a guess they know the number Levy wants and are prepared to meet it.

You do know that City are the highest scoring team in the premier league? This is because we haven’t relied on the old “ hoof it to the big guy up front” but instead have had goals coming from all over the pitch from technically gifted players.

Fortunately Pep understands this. You stick with your Stuart Pearce understanding of the game.
Fortunately pep will have also seen the many times we’ve pushed forward and had nothing to aim at, started again and lost possession. Luckily we do get a lot of goals from midfield, but your man is also right that our current forwards as much as they may score miss a lot of chances, a top striker doesn’t change goals coming from midfield it just adds another avenue, and would 100% improve us

You do realise a 100% improvement would put us on at least 166 points for next season? I think you are overestimating Kane’s ability like quite a few on this thread

When we sign Kane and finish on 166 points next season, winning two Carabao Cups in the progress, you'll look back at this post and feel foolish ;)

I'll just leave this here.

All the dont want him snowflakes, beware.

Ruthless with his feet but brilliant with his head & pens too. I think he would score 30+ a season in this City side if he stayed fit. KDB would have an absolute field day with his crossing.

I was firmly in the Haaland camp but the more I think about the possibility of Kane the more I get excited. Either of them would be absolutely fantastic in a blue shirt.

Taking out his price, age & glass ankle, you're telling me you don't want a striker (which we need) that has 165 goals in 244 appearances?
Alright then.

I agree if Kane wants to come to City I think he has gone about it all wrong. City dont like a fuss.
City have had a few messy transfers, Sterling, and I think lescott, but City try to avoid them.

Spurs will play hardball. I wouldn't be surprised if Kane ends up being done up by two American owners, stay at spurs or go to utd.

Its either just the usual games being played

or Kane stating that their was a somewhat gentlemans agreement for him to move this summer has not been honoured by levy, hence kane going public and now the reported fury of levy

Lets hope we can just get this resolved asap

I would be surprised if any deal was close, surely Levy will be waiting until after the CL final to see if we win.

I read that winning the CL is worth £100 million, so why would he even discuss a fee until he see's if we receive this windfall?
