Harry Kane

The only possibilities are Steffen (because Lloris is ageing, also allows him to be first choice/regular) and Aké, no one else in the squad would change their place for Spurs because they all play an integral role.

Ake plus Sterling plus £x million

Both return London.

Sterling could transform Spurs into a genuine top 4 club (as much as he frustrates me recently). We get Grealish.

Ake is a good defender. Laporte is happier.
Are you just choosing to ignore the fact Sterling will not be going to Spurs?

Ake,yep,can see that.

Yes I am ignoring facts. They only get in the way.

Seriously though I agree that it's a bit much to expect Sterling to go to a club not in the CL. But it's London, he'd be well paid, Spurs aren't that far away from a decent side, he'd be the main man, etc.

A better fit from a football perspective would probably be Liverpool. Obviously Liverpool would be very very weird for Sterling and for the fans. Stranger things in football have happened but I'd hate to think this would.

United would be perfect for him - speed, fight, work ethic, leader ... everything they need. He'd be their Tevez. I'd not mind too much if he did (providing it was for mega bucks). I know others would hate it though.

Chelsea too would be a great destination for him. Very similar to us but a new start.

In my made up world he goes to Spurs. Its got a more calming effect for me.

"poch is back" that's all Daniel could say, not achance Sterling will go there even on 1m a week
I think the only chance is if he‘s been told - and believes - he’s surplus to requirements. I certainly wouldn’t bet on it happening but wouldn’t 100% rule it out.

His pride will take a dent if he‘s not selected tomorrow or just makes a token sub appearance. Now that is quite possible.

He may well be told he can go but he is better than spurs, much better.

Sterling wouldn't move from the best team in the world to also-rans who have won one trophy in the last 20 years or so and are nowhere near the CL. It's as obvious as it gets. Same with Jesus. They'd rather move to Inter, Atletico, Juventus, Milan, Bayern, PSG etc. etc. than to Spurs, and they'd rather stay at City for another year than sign for 5 years with Spurs.

People realise that we won't probably pay what Levy wants and try to convince themselves Sterling or Jesus would go to Spurs to make the deal happen. Problem is that's just wishful thinking. Steffen, Ake and Delap are the only realistic options for a cash plus players deal. Sterling, Jesus and Laporte are completely unrealistic options.

Not convincing myself of anything, mate. I said it was a long shot. But not every player is willing to sit on the sidelines for a year of their prime career time. So please dont tell me the situation’s as obvious as it gets. Likely, yes. Probable, yes. Obvious, no.

Which option would you take

We sign Kane and Haaland goes to Madrid

We sign Haaland and Kane goes to the rags

The latter, as I believe its the one that makes us much stronger out of the two.

The Rags are always going to buy good players - we can’t stop that. But they’ve still got a fucking idiot as Manager, and form for turning decent players into complacent, disinterested shadows of themselves once they pull on the famous red shirt.

We focus on ourselves.

If we get Haaland, I’d be confident they can splurge a fortune on Kane and still be way behind us.

Theoretically, a move to Spurs is possible already this summer, but only theoretically, IMO. In practical terms, it's quite certain he won't go to Spurs.

Nobody at City would threaten Sterling or Jesus or Laporte to put them on the bench if they refused a move to Spurs. It's not a given that Sterling won't regain form and play in many games. He would rather see what happens next season than go to Spurs this summer. If things next season go south again, then a move to significantly inferior teams may be on the cards, but not now, IMO.

Haaland not guarented to sign for united, id even say its unlikely he would. Kane is proven in PL and has a less cuntish agent. However he only has a couple of seasons left him and injury prone. Personally think Kane will stay at spurs should poch come back and reckon he threatened to leave unless poch came back
