Would it be better if he were an 80 k a week player ?
Or maybe £120 K
Seriously, what does his wage have to do with it ?
Does it raise fan’s expectations? Or is it just a stick to beat him with .
You really need an explanation for something so simple?

300K is elite wages....probably around what kane would earn. If we are so well run(and i believe we certainly are) you dont keep paying huge sums for someone who bottles chances and proves to be hugely inconsistent...even worse this year.

Toal wage bills are as important as total transfer fee's....more so honestly because it ties you down for years.

- Grows up an immigrant without a dad (because he was murdered).

- Cleans toilets before school because its the only way his mum can keep down the multiple jobs she's working.

- Takes 2 hour busses to and from training after school.

- Moves away from home at 15 to provide for his family

- Gets subjected to an organised national hate campaign by the biggest newspaper in the country. Gets racially assaulted, abused st every ground in the country.

"Crumbles at the first hurdle"

Get fucked. Raheem Sterling has overcome far more than a drop in form and being out of the starting line up for 3 months.

He's the clubs highest goalscorer over the past 4 seasons. He's scored or assisted more goals than anyone not named Kevin De Bruyne even in his worst seasons.

He's done as much for this clubs success under Pep as any one of his teammates and despite the fact you and a few others wish he was sold off every window for whatever new shiny toy there is, he'll be here for the foreseeable, racking up goals and trophies.
Well said

I know what your saying but I think he isn't getting a look in because of his own form, not someone else's.
That’s what I was actually saying!

Fernandinho said this about Foden:

“The movements they make, when you have to pass the ball, when you have to drive the ball.”

What I am saying is that Pep sees this is NOT part of Sterling’s game and he doesn’t make these discussions correctly. On the other hand, Fernando has seen Foden develop these MIND skills and blossom under Pep’s direction.

Thank you for highlighting that I had not made that clear.

Then, give him a medal, not a new long term contract making £1M+ per month!

We are agreeing. Sterling lost his place because of his own poor form and will find it extremely difficult to regain it because of Phils greater ability.

Shot accuracy just measures if the shot was on target. Tame shots straight at the goalkeeper are accurate, powerful strikes that beat the goalkeeper but come back off the inside of the post are not. It's not entirely worthless, but it doesn't tell you a whole lot without further context.

The standard we need to hold Sterling to is his own peak performance. Here's Sterling's goals+assists per minute in the Premier League over the last few seasons:

17/18 - goal or assist every 89 minutes
18/19 - goal or assist every 103 minutes
19/20 - goal or assist every 127 minutes
20/21 - goal or assist every 149 minutes
Didn't realise we only played Premier League games

The hate for sterling on the match thread is embarrassing, I can name 4 players who have done the sun total of fuck all, and that includes Kev. Not sure some are city fans on the match day thread

Least of our problems but the attack isn't at all functioning as it should be.
