Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

Bollocks and so very wrong, we are one of the giants of the game, not owned by the TV rental man

Giants of the fucking game but never been in a CL final before today? Off you fuck.

I'm proud of my club, we're the champions of England again and we'll be back for that CL title. Chin up blues! We go again

I think if Fern as on from the start it would still be 0-0. Chelsea only ripped us apart, or threatened to in the first half. Maybe the only way of beating them was to play them at their own game and grind out a 1-0.

I do not blame the City players. It was wrong team selection and tactics that cost us. But Chelsea stopped us playing and defended exceptionally well. If fact, In the first half especially, they defended with the purpose of winning the ball and counter attacking.

Zinchenko not being in the right position gave them their goal. Not that it matters now.
Not having balance in midfeld cost us the goal.

The ball was played right through where a holding midfielder would be.

It was a strange time to play without a holding midfielder, you'd think Pep would try it against Brighton or Everton first, not in the biggest game in our history!

We all could have predicted that Chelsea team tonight. However, Pep picked a team unlike any other we’ve put out all season, including the big games in the Champions League semis and quarters. Maybe it is something he’d worked on with the team for weeks but it didn’t look that way on the pitch.

Chelsea are a quality side with three centre backs, two holding midfielders, and hard working players in the other positions. We needed to accept that we might need till extra time to get a goal. Instead we put out a team like we were already a goal down and desperately chasing the game.

It’s been a good season but after a game like that you can’t help feeling disappointed.

For such a good side we perform like tonight’s game an awful lot, so maybe tonight isn’t all down to the selection and formation for this game. It certainly helps the case for signing a Kane or Haaland because if this is our plan B we need another one.
Chelsea played like Chelsea do under Tommy, yet Pep did not seem to understand.

Well let’s hope pep has learned his lesson about tinkering with a winning team but I wouldn’t hold your breath on that on
to the players thanks for a great season and see you next season but next year win it!
Same as last year in the semi final, Pep fucked the selection up and the machine stops working properly

We didn’t turn up sadly. Had zero control of the game. Not sure why Pep chose to set us up like that because without control KDB, Mahrez and Foden were invisible.

Saying that it didn’t get any better when we made changes.

First goal was vital and it was just way too easy.

Best side won. No complaints on that score.

Can someone who watched it on TV tell me if it was handball?
They didn't show a close up from the front, but from the back it looked like it, couldn't tell from the back though whether it came off his chest first. A suspicious person might suggest no replays other than 1 rear view speaks volumes

To be fair, being a fan of this amazing Club and living through all the difficult moments - taught me, that we always loose in such an important games.. Well.. not always but we tend to loose such kind of games..

I remember game against Tottenham in 2010 when we lost a chance to qualify for the CL -> but look where the fuck are we now and where is that shit of a club, with their leader dreaming about playing for us..

I remember the game against Liverpool when we lost due to Vinnies error, but look where are we now - winning the PL three times in four years..

I remember the games against United and that goal from Rooney, but look where are we now and where is United..

This difficult moments made me realize why I love this Club and why I will support it no matter what.. Like a Phoenix we always return and we return stronger, braver, cooler and we do our job, we win and show them, those fuckers that the final result and final laugh and final joy is OURS...

COME ON CITY

You have never let me down and you I'm sure that you will return stronger from this failure as well..

FUTURE IS FUCKING OURS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A disappointing finale to an excellent season.

Fairplay to Chelsea.

Enjoy the summer!
I just turned the football off at the final whistle and resolved to watch something funny on TV instead. I gave in after about an hour and I looked here, the first thing I read I quote and it says it all really.

Gutted? Absolutely, but remember where we have come from.

One sad thing though: before the game started the commentator said something like oooooh Southgate must be happy watching these English players tonight. Really? well apart from Walker, who else who qualifies for England on either side stood out tonight?
