Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

As gutted as I am, as much as I think the team selection was wrong(Sterling? No Fernandinho? Why?)... I really don't think it would a have made a difference. I don't think City performed tonight, they didn't play their normal game and it wasn't all down to how Chelsea set up. Even KDB was off form, Foden, Stones, Walker, Gundo all making mistakes too. It was another game where they beat us with not much in it, probably heading to extra time if Zinchenko tracked the run of Havertz.

It wasn't that they didn't care though, people can fuck off with that, they just didn't get going, trying too hard to force things, no fluidity to our play, our pressing and positioning was out of sync too. Which is why I maintain Chelsea weren't really that good either, they did just enough to go in front and defended well(easier to do when you have a deep line like they did for most of our attacks).

Wasn't our night, Chelsea just about deserved to win, still been a great season overall though.

Got the feeling it was a game where Fernandinho would've ended up with a red card early on. I'm not one to criticize refs usually but he gave us nothing.
Thought the ref was OK but the handball was judged far too quickly. Body check on KDB could have been a red but as he was having a shit game I wasn't too fussed. Ultimately forward line was outgunned, we offered nothing and Sterling and Mahrez are still in the fullbacks pockets, they were owned

we need some presence on that pitch, personality, we have little Diaz and Walker apart

Gutted. But we're not talking about the ref or VAR. We weren't robbed. Beaten fair and square. Well done Chelsea. Hope we get Haaland and go again in August. Just don't understand why Fernandinho didn't start in place of Sterling. But I'm not Pep.
No, we weren't robbed, it was easy for Chelsea.
We weren't even 2nd best

We got bossed tonight, no hiding from that

maybe the game was to high pressure for the city players because of not being in the final before
the pain of losing must be the perfect tonic to go again next season

i will say the lack of strikers has done for city tonight and KANE & HAALAND must be signed next week andf get rid of the deadwood

I never thought we’d see another Lyon type performance from this City team. Pep, you should have learnt last year, this was the biggest stage and you’ve fiddled with the team again.

Jesus was the only one showing a bit of fight. Sterling can fuck off.
WTF did he think Sterling was going to achieve tonight other than his usual shit passes/crosses, and Chelsea assists ?

Every fucking Blue was rightfully worried before game.

A fucking idiot would have picked Fernandinho to start tonight That is how bad his decision was.

He does my Head in when his Ego gets in the way of common sense,

At half time he should have thought, I have dropped a major bollock here, we are being over run in the middle.

He got away with us not going 2-0 down before this first change
