Champions League Final | Post-Match Thread

Nowhere have I questioned Pep's achievements in the League and the football has (in the main) been a pleasure to watch.

But surely it's not wrong to question his ability in the CL (and, as someone else mentioned in the FA Cup) when poor team selection has quite obviously cost us.
There's a difference between questioning his ability in the CL and slating him as though he's the worst manager we've ever had. You can't say it's obviously cost us anything. Rodri and Ferdo started in the FA Cup v Chelsea and we lost. You just never know. What if we'd got the penalty which was dismissed in milliseconds? What if KDB hadn't gone off injured and just made that one killer pass late on? Te ay people are taling on here you'd think we had lost 6-0 or something. I'm as gutted as anyone but this is pathetic. How the fuck some of you lot coped when we were in division 2 I'll never know.

It wasn't a handball. It wasn't. I want it to be so I can be mad, but really it bounced off his chest onto his upper arm and he had no clue.

That is still a penalty though. It doesnt matter if it hits his body first, if the arm makes the body bigger it is a penalty.

Chelsea deserves it on the night, unfortunately.

It's the feeling that we didn't do (Pep)Kun Aguero the justice is hurting the most. Pep for all his brilliance should have remembered that a clinical striker from 1st minutes of a game is a different proposition for defenders. Although it's disappointing but it's still been a brilliant season and we are still the champions of the land.

Perhaps. But had we lost with Dihno or Rodri at DM. With Foden wide left and Gundo in the middle controlling and supporting Kev. I'd have taken my hat off and say Congrats!

It's not that we are not beatable. We are. United does it quite regularly. It's that we helped them do it.

This is hard to accept. I'm sorry. It just is :(
Great post. This should be easy for all to see.

I’m losing track here - can anyone tell me what page to go to for the managers post match quotes and explanation of team selection?

Most successful period in our history, and cunts are coming on here slagging off our players and management.
I'm fucking fuming tonight mate, not cos we lost a game of football, but because of the negativity on here.

It's a forum for fucks sake people are pissed off that Pep in our most important game ever has gone and fucked with the team again, man we all love what he has done with the other trophies but it's fucking ridiculous what he's done tonight.

Strange theory, but the moment rags lost the other final I doubted our chances.
They really won't let us win the biggest club competition in the world when rags are at their lowest.

I’m not as gutted as I thought I would be. I am really disappointed for the people who went out there though, with all the nonsense at the moment. I think they were let down by our team and manager. Piss poor.
Well said pal. I’m here and it fells like the players have kicked us in the balls and laughed in our faces

among many piss boiling things about that I’m wondering why Mahrez and Sterling didnt get on the touchline and demand the ball be played behind the full backs.

played into feet all night with a full back up your arse, its sunday football stuff knowing how to play against that.

i never like slagging players but surely Sterling has now proved he can’t do it at the highest level. We should move him on. Its like groundhog day watching him.

If you think he's blaming Pep you're off your but.

I'm gutted too mate but we don't make that final, or win the title, or the centurions or clean sweep seasons, without Guardiola.

It ain't easy to accept, but we'll be back and we'll win it. For now, we have to be content with making our first ever final and winning the title
Pep's performance tonight was a disgrace, he get lots of plaudits and rightly so, tonight he was pathetic, insulting and not befitting the title of Best Coach in the world.

You would think Pep would have figured that out. Chelsea were very impressive defensively and we were unable to find a way through them. The warning signs were there in the FA cup and reinforced in the league game. Didnt our coaching staff learn anything from those games
I wonder if any of our coaching staff question Pep or are they all just yes men?

Would of Fernandinho stopped Chelsea’s goal? The answer is no. Him starting tonight wasn’t the reason the lost. Bore off with that shite
If he’d started with Foden wide left and Bernardo up top doing all the pressing with de Bruyne in midfield… their goal might not have even happened, never mind needed to be stopped.

Most people knew we were fucked when the lineup was announced. Chelsea looked good cos they played their usual system that they’re familiar with and their players looked like they wanted to win unlike ours
Peps fault then?
Players couldn't be arsed?
If we had played Ferni we would have won?
Sterling is shit,
FFS Marhez?

I love City. I've seen them be shit. I've seen them be sublime.

We lost.

Bring on next season.

Blue and PROUD!

many players will look at the line up and say i could have done better but the truth is city are not the finished article
a world class left back and 2 strikers and then we can go again next season
We brought Fernandinho on and two Strikers and nothing changed. It wasn’t to be to be mate. City will be back and we will win the CL one day
