Mahrez and Foden were no better than Sterling.

Sam was right: That was a horror show, from selection to performances. But put the players in situations they're not so comfortable in and what do you expect?

Were we better in Paris in the first half? PSG could have been 2 up in the first 30 minutes. We didn't create more chances in Paris than today but got lucky with the goals.

The first half vs PSG at the Etihad wasn't great either. They hit the bar, Di Maria missed a great opportunity. Watch that half again. The difference with today was that Mahrez scored whereas Sterling and Foden missed today.

Why must Pep win a treble every other season? It's incredibly stupid to expect that, especially when he does wonders without strikers or with just one fit striker all season.

Imagine that the rags had Pep and were destroying the league...Some City fans are embarassing thrmselves and the club tonight with silly comments about the manager and the players forgetting they did generally very, very well this season.

The whole team set-up was to accommodate Sterling starting, utterly bizarre.

If this was some kind of reverse psychological experiment to get a reaction from Raheem, at least afford the three lads in the middle a change at making a press or tackle.

Bizarre to go out with an attacking team with no DM and only have one shot on goal.

I'll explain it to you.
We have gone out of the Champions League three times due to the referee we had tonight making the wrong decisions against us.
This referee has a long history of being against Pep Guardiola and against Manchester City.
Pep looked at this and realised every tackle, every bit of pressure will result in a free kick against us (at best).
With this in mind Pep decided to pick a team that were better at keeping possession rather than winning it back as that was the least likely to result in freekicks, penaltys, red cards against us.
He decided that due to the above it was sensible to pick Sterling rather than Fernandinho as that minimises the risks of red cards but allows Sterling's pace to keep James pinned back, thus negating one of their biggest threats.
Foden and De Bruyne were then allowed to roam up front in the hopes that this would then pull their back 5 out of position a little allowing us to exploit the space somewhat.

That selection, and leaving Fernandinho out consequently, upset the entire balance of the team, yes. It meant Foden wasn’t out wide left where he was against Dortmund & Paris, Gundogan was too deep in an ineffective role, we had no proper midfield so each player was missing the option Fern would have provided, and De Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez didn’t get going. Terrible selection and blatantly obvious too.

The system that worked so well for 2/3rds of the season stopped working because we left out our most important player and moved our two most influential forward players into positions that don’t suit them. Sterling was the one brought in at the expense of all that and the machine broke down.

Their heads went before kick-off, maybe due to the line-up.

We looked so disjointed and unorganised.

No one played well, but at least Walker tried to make a difference.

Could tell after 15 minutes or so, we didn't look right.

It was an awful performance, just horrendous.

Mind blowing to completely change the way we play.
