Not 100% confident he'd fit our pressing from the front, no space behind oppo defence, isolated vs 2/3 CBs so have to drop deep to get involved game. He certainly won't score as many as he does for Dortmund.
How many of his goals are the result of being played through on goal vs Bundes highlines? Won't get that here.

Every time I see this point made, I am forced to remind people that before he went to Dortmund, he played for Salzburg, one of the most aggressively pressing sides in Europe as their signature. His pressing is regarded as excellent by all accounts, I’ve posted several analysis (by others, you don’t have to trust me for this). The way Dortmund plays actually helped him develop as a striker. The Salzburg/Dortmund combination makes him the best of both worlds.

He's a quality player but Pep isn't going to give up a system that makes us control games in favour of getting Haaland on the counter.
If he played for Chelsea vs us instead of Werner I think they would have spanked us, would suit that system perfectly.
Think you’re understating his goals somewhat.
He’s great on the counter but he’s so much more than that.
He’s a goal scorer first and foremost.
He’s a poacher in the box.
Has great movement, power and speed.
Strength for days.
He can get tap ins (see movement)
He can smash goals in inside and outside the box.
He’s got skills (they’re electrifying)
He has an incredible work ethic and wants to win.
For every counter attacking goal chance he doesn’t get playing in our system, he gets many many more chances with our attack and creativity.

Think you're overstating some things he excels at.

Of his 68 career goals, 3 have come from outside the box and 5 with his head.
Kane - in this season alone has 4 from outside the box and 6 headers

Haaland averages less than 1 take-on per game(less than Kane who is not renowned for his dribbling) so not sure what he's using these electrifying skills for?

His incredible work ethic has led to 7 tackles and 4 interceptions for Dortmund this season. Kane 22 tackles and 11 interceptions. Neither come close to Gabbys per90(an actual grafter).
His numbers for this apparently uber pressing Salzburg were no better than his Dortmund ones so it can't be a system thing?.

My point was he’s great inside the box and we ain’t buying him for his tackling ability.
And the “electrifying” comment was tongue in cheek with reference to Grease.
He’s got skill and that’s not just dribbling.

Hazard didn't choose chelsea because they won the champions league. He chose them because he wanted to live i london, but also play in the champions league. Chelsea winning it gave them a spot in the following season's competition which they didn't have through league places. That, is why he went there when chelsea won it, not because they won it.

We know this, because he narrated his own transfer saga live.

I've seen nothing at all that would concince me Kane would be an easier transfer to pull off.

Here is Hazard confirming it was Champions League win which decided it in their favour, no mention whatsoever of living in London being the motivation.

That was 9 years ago ? I meant recent ones, but fair enough !
Their second goalie is the only from recent past imo.
But when it matters they will break the bank we won’t, look at the VVD saga he could’ve been ours but we wouldn’t budge do you think Roman would give a shit about an extra £5 million? Haaland will go where the money is sadly, if he wants multiple trophies he comes to us, Chelsea may challenge with their first 11 but no way they can compete on 4 fronts, they will do a Liverpool and chuck the domestic cups.

Sorry should of said doesn't include goals in League1/2 equivalent leagues.
"Incredible work ethic" implys pressing and winning the ball back?
And if all we required was someone who is great inside the box we wouldn't have pushed Serge out the door, Pep wants someone who brings more to the table. Someone who scores the goals but with the technical ability of the players he plays at false9. Someone like Dybala(before Ronaldo turned up) would be perfect in our team.

I think people really underestimate how many chances we have to counter attack.

We get half a dozen in each game, even against the likes of Burnley or Allardyce we get chances from their corners and usually break from them.

The reason we dont score from them is because Sterling is the only one with pace and seeing him get into the opposition half, look up and realise no one is around him, is something we see almost every game. When we had Sané, Sterling, Jesus/Aguero up front we scored the most counter attacking goals in the league because the person breaking got support. Teams aren't playing against us differently, we just aren't converting the counter attack into chances and goals.

Even in the first half on Saturday - and in every game we have lost against good opposition - we have had big counter attacks but couldn't work them into goals.

We can break down a parked bus, we do it every week and have won 3 league titles doing it. I think its a massive oversimplification of what Haaland does to say he can only play in space, but even if that were true he'd still score a bucket load.

Career goals are just that, all of them matter.
It shows improvement over his very short career.
Under Pep he’d improve again.
Sergio looked doomed under Pep cos he didn’t really press, but then he did.
If Sergio was fit over the last 12 months we probably wouldn’t be having this conversation.

I think you’re underestimating their threat like some other posters. They were in the FA Cup final, won the UCL and if you look at their percentage of points won in the PL since Tuchel arrived, they probably would have competed with the title with him since the beginning. They might be our biggest challenger in all four competitions honestly, alongside maybe PSG, Liverpool and Bayern for the UCL and Liverpool for the PL (underestimating United? Who knows)

That came before, he said london was his preference, but not without champions league.

Chelsea winning it meant nothing in terms of prestige. It was the fact it then qualified them for next season's competition, at the expense of spurs who finished ahead of them in the league.

My point is, it can't be compared to Chelsea winning it this year. It had nothing to do with the prestige that comes with it or the player wanting to play for the champions of Europe. It was a player being selfish and wanting to play CL. Back then, winning it gave them, now, they have it regardless.
