Zoe App news!

Another rise on Zoe to top 6000 for the first time in many months.

Cases from 5715 by 325 to 6040.

Symptomatic reported Covid also jumped up by 4435 in one day to 69. 420.

It was in the low teens a month ago. So multipled about 5 times.

Can’t work out if you are serious or not, course they will be. You should have learnt by now that the media are pricks who have led with fear from the start, partly directed by SAGE looking at early meeting minutes that were published.
I just don't understand it anymore to be honest
We were told vaccines were the way out of this.
Yet you can't have restriction free holidays, nights out are not enjoyable and we can't go to sporting events yet properly.
Maybe it's me but it still seems very repressive.

You seem to want to live in a permanent la la land.

I don’t understand why people thought being vaccinated would open up international travel.
All it would facilitate is some people seemingly well carrying the virus in whatever variant all over the world.

Vaccines are ongoing. It pays to be cautious until the vast majority have had their shot.

I understand but the more they wait the more business's fold.
I don't think we can be too far away from a big holiday operator like TU, Easyjet etc going bust.
Some of the decision making has been appalling - I read today that Portugal could be struck off the green list and they are blaming the CL final last week for the big spike.
Well that was UEFA's fucking fault and they should have been overruled by the EU, terrible decision to have fans en masse going to 1 place.
It really is unbelievable some of the poor decisions that have been made.

Some businesses will survive and some won’t. The businesses that don’t will be replaced by new ones.

Opening up travel to Portugal hasn’t worked, so foreign travel isn’t likely to be commonplace for a while yet, whilst other countries catch up with vaccinations.

ZOE DATA:

Bolton on 1258 btw is the second LOWEST in GM (only Salford on 1155 less is lower- though both in the lowest watch zone in the 1000s). Salford is a puzzle as its cases for real are much higher than Zoe infers.

Every other borough is in higher watch zones.

Trafford is high - but falls to 6742 from the 8000s - though Tameside is likely above it (though has fallen too into the 12,000s but not enough data to guarantee accuracy so discounted by Zoe).

Bury has risen a bit to 6873 so actually just replaces Trafford again today as the worst in GM.

Oldham down a bit but at 4022 but still in that range.

Rochdale next at 3177

But Manchester falls to 2820.

The lowest two boroughs of the other 8 are Wigan and Stockport (in the 2000s). They are both slightly down too today at 2485 Wigan and 2289 Stockport.

Given cases are up on Zoe the GM falls almost across the board is hopeful.

Preston is now the worst in the NW - on 7752.

Chorley at 4108 is above much of GM now too.

And West Lancashire and Wyre are both above half of GM - Wyre is almost 4000 (Wyre is the area north of Blackopool such as Fleetwood).

Kitklees (Huddersfield etc) is the highest in Yorkshire and the only one above the 2000s at 4461.

There are two different sides to the argument about restrictions now. One is the zero risk, don’t let up until not a single person is ill or dying with it and the other is that the risk is now just one of many risks in life that are always there.

I’m in the second category as there are no guarantees to avoid all risk in life and we have to get on with things.
