A pretty poor response,
It's a forum mate, no need for you to get political and post a picture of him.
What he seems to be implying, and there’s a fair few on here that do it, is that if you think lockdowns don’t actually work or even if you think they just might cause more damage than they prevent, you are therefore an anti-vaccine, Covid denying nutter. It’s a piss poor straw man type argument but it does have its zealous adherents.

I just don't understand it anymore to be honest
We were told vaccines were the way out of this.
Yet you can't have restriction free holidays, nights out are not enjoyable and we can't go to sporting events yet properly.
Maybe it's me but it still seems very repressive.

Vaccines are our way out of it. the dates estimated ( and they are modelled estimates ) by the Gov we clearly based on % of population vaccinated and how close we are to herd immunity with them.

21st June will have been the date we estimated we were safely past the herd immunity ( with the 2/3 weeks lag for it to take effect ).

Unfortunatly herd immunity is based on how fast the virus transmits. with the increase in speed of the Indian Variant the time to herd immunity shifts back a little.

add into that that its become clear that 1 shot doesn't prevent transmission as much as hoped so that herd immunity really will only fully hit once 2nd dose is given.

Normality is on the horizon within this country. Holidays abroad are another matter as we cannot control other countries.

I agreed with the lockdowns and I've had the vaccine

Zoe data elsewhere

Luton has spiked and is now at 6069 - above most places in the NW but not all

Redditch is not far off at 5624.

Most places in the South remain only at the level of Wigan and Stockport at worse.

Such as Watford 2561 and Southwark 2526

Havant in Hampshire ditto at 2561.Maldon in Essex is 2318.

Large swathes of Derbyshire are in the 2000s too.

Further North Sunderland on 4840

In Scotland large parts of the country (very big regions there) are in the 2000s.

Glasgow numbers seem down in that range too.

In fact Edinburgh at 3525 is higher on Zoe and North Lanarkshire between the rwo hugher still at 4317.

However, South Ayrshire is still the highest in the country on 5445

Aberdeenshire which was for a while way up there is now only in the mid 2000s.

In Wales Wrexham at 3061 is the only place over the 1000s. And there are only a couple of those in the 1000s down south around Swansea.

Meanwhile, in the US, President Joe Biden has announced a “month of action” to encourage more Americans to get vaccinated before the 4 July national holiday.

Among the measures announced on Wednesday were free childcare for parents while getting vaccinated and recruiting 1,000 black-owned barbershops and beauty salons to support the vaccination drive.

Anheuser-Busch will also give away free beer to all adults over the age of 21 on 4 July, once the goal of getting 70% of all US adults to be at least partially vaccinated in time for Independence Day has been reached.

I just looked at the heat map for Blackurn. 5 days old of course as the heat maps are.

The only notable up tick in the older ages is in the over 85.

And those under 20 are still about 5 or 6 times higher in the cases.

Needs watching. And is different from Bolton - the heat map of which I posted here a couple of days ago and has not changed since as I just checked that too.

The ratio in Bolton between under 20s catching it and over 85s is still around 30 times or more.

Wonder what caused this disparity?

One clue here are the vaccinations in the two boroughs: 1st / Both doses

Bolton 71.2% / 45.3%

Blackburn 67.2% / 39. 6

Markedly fewer vaccinated in Blackburn

Will someone tell us what the exit plan is?

There will ALWAYS be coronavirus and there will NEVER stop being variants that ‘could’ evade vaccines and ‘may’ be more transmissible. Different parts of the world will forever be at different stages of immunity or infection and so please can someone lay out the exit plan because I cannot for the life of me see one. The flu vaccine is literally created by guessing which variants will around each winter because they change so much.

For all the talk of conspiracies and great resets etc, it’s getting to the point where they start becoming believable because the reality is even more ridiculous than the conspiracies.

So all those that keep telling us ‘we just have to wait a bit longer’ and shouting down the likes of @BLUEMATT23 please tell us

1. WHEN do you think things will get back to normal?

2. WHEN do you think people will enjoy freedom to travel

This is a serious question because we see lots of people advocating restrictions based on new variants and infection etc but seemingly no acknowledgement that this will ALWAYS be the case.

Meanwhile, in England, we are now making people who volunteer at vaccination centres, pay for their parking. You’d be surprised to hear that there has been a significant fall off in volunteers......

When the NHS isn't likely to be overwhelmed by too many cases at the one time, which would be a catastrophe not only for Covid patients but every other person who needs treatment.

Apparently things are normal and there isn’t anything that we aren’t able to do according to some on here. Must have led pretty shit lives.

I've been a good little boy not broke my numerous isolation periods due to contact been double jabbed wore a face mask every where not broke lock down rules .

The problem is a lot of people are not following the guidance so if you are like me your doing what you can while you see other people do as they please make u feel whats the point.

57 years it will take some nations to vaccinate their nations at their current rate such as india on sky news now

Its not going away . We need to get onto the things

Ive only realized in the last week, since joining a FB page, that the US participants in the vaccine trial that Im on, are paid $75 per visit. We get travel expenses, 3 months later, if lucky.

Those of us who were anti-lockdown to begin with brought up the lack of clear defined exit strategy at the time as one of the big reasons you don’t make such a massive decision so rashly. 15 months down the line here we are still in limbo between various states of non-freedom. Said it before on here and think I was probably called Piers Corbyn at the time too but we will have to fight to get our freedoms back. Whether the tipping point is late this summer, autumn or maybe even winter when cases remain low, I’m not sure.

People have allowed this to consume their entire lives. Micro analysing of data, scaremongering. Who for? This is here now. It will never not be here. As the flu is and will return as well. That’s it. Time to open up and forget this ever happened.

Whilst I accept that every individual's idea of normal is different, there does seem to be an attitude on here of 'what is there now that you cant do?' Which really means, 'all things I want to do are back so I'm ok'.

Stockport didn’t seem on the verge of Armageddon this morning, the usual queue was forming outside McDonald’s. At ease

Some new research out from European Molecular Biology Laboratory, European Bioinformatics Institute EMBL-EBI, Hinxton, UK 2. Joint Biosecurity Center JBC 3. Wellcome Sanger Institute, Hinxton, UK 4. The Francis Crick Institute, London, UK 5. Public Health England PHE 6. London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, London, UK

They find Indian variant to be 37% more transmissible than Kent variant. Summary and link to research is in the link below.

Bad news, but better than the 60% they orinlginaly thought.
