The way I see this is if we really, really wanted Haaland we would have no issues finding the money. Given how we filed the accounts last year - putting all the losses into that year we could safely sign two big money players in the next accounting period. Especially, as has been reported we reduce numbers in the first team squad further or include players as part exchanges.
It makes sense to me given Pep has two years left with us (hoping for more but have to be realistic) to sign players who are 100% familiar with the PL - if you like less of a risk whilst adding another dimension for CL games - this is where Kane fits the profile perfectly. Look at Werner and Havertz - yes they beat us in Porto but in truth I was one who looked at their signings last summer and really thought Chelsea would be our big hurdle in the chase for the PL. To be honest it wasn't as if they tore us apart in the final more of they worked out a way to stop us. Cant say I look at their players and thought "I wish we had him". Some players take time and I think Pep wants instant effect to the team, less of a project - The way he talked about having players who could walk into the first team kind of confirms this thought process.
I would love it if we signed Kane and Grealish this summer for those reasons, also helps if the ineffectual FA decide to adjust homegrown rules in the future and gives us two ready made starters.
If I am wrong and we do go for Haaland I would also be over the moon - 21 and a big upside but he may take a few months to settle. Either way it's very exciting. I suspect things will move on a pace after the two week holiday Pep mentioned after the final - can't wait to see what happens.
