Covid and travel discussion

Show me a bargain for a caravan holiday blue because I cant find them?
Haven have nowt for a midweek break less than the three ton mark and a week's over £480. I would sooner set fire to my toes than pay that for June !

Hotels are off the radar at a ton a night unless you want to rough it on up with our Lennie

The UK touring and camping resorts are extracting the proverbial piss and we are not for biting. Sincerely hope you end up with your pikey caravans shoved up your greedy arse.

Anxious the Elephant, Manic the Parrot, Sylvester the Snake, Rory the Tiger and Greedy the Gorilla give your heads a big fooking wobble!

Try ho seasons,

Plenty for under 2 ton in June.

I'm in Portugal, back Thursday, you've no need to feel sorry for me. Had a lazy morning and sauntered down to the local village about midday for brunch, followed by a few hours around the pool, finally dragged the kids out about 7ish and now on the roof terrace for a bbq. Beach day tomorrow. Kids have loved seeing the grandparents for the first time in 8 months. Feels far safer covid wise here with rules being adhered to. Its costs me about £75 total more for the tests now. Eldest will have to do a week's home learning and I'll be working from home as usual.

Signed,

Daft sod.
I am in alvor fly home tomorrow easyJet cancelled are flight for Wednesday . Had a great time Porto + 4 rounds of golf with my lad been here since the 29th . I’ll sit in the back garden few bits around the house. My choice & happy with it

for those who can do this the UK press clamour must look pretty fucking funny tbh......... the UK Press - motto " if we aren't scaring you we aren't doing our job"

If you are into walking, hiking or running in the jungle followed by cold beers then the Phuket Hash House Harriers are there every Saturday.
A drinking club with a running problem.

Will bear that in mind

Not sure if we are going to go for 4 months or for maybe 2 months then back to UK for a while then another 2 months there

You're probably familiar with the visa requirements but during lockdown last year Phuket immigration relaxed the overstay and allowed stranded tourists to remain.

Not sure what the current or future plans are but if you need any clarification contact the volunteers at the link below and they will help you.

Good luck with your trip, I'll be heading back once the summer is over here.

We were on Samui Phangan and Tao for 4 months from February last year.
So went through most of the lockdown , visa renewals then visa amnesty
Only came home because UK were introducing quarantine on arrival plus my dad was getting a bit freaked out by all the covid news stories

Getting very busy in my neck of the wood over the last week or so.
Mostly Spanish who are coming from the big cities but a fair amount of Brits/Skandis arriving as well.
Sun is shining, skies are blue and the cool box is keeping my desperado nice and cold by the pool.
Things are looking up :-)

I do have some sympathy but it's about self responsibility to. Really they should have completely shut down and said no travel in and out.
Surely 'self responsibility' is the individual making their choice. Given all the uncertainty around world travel i'd have thought anyone booking hol's right now knew they were taking a risk?
I'm waiting for a flight out to Bermuda but there's no way i'm gonna book one until things are much more settled.

Holidays won't happen until mid 2022 would be my guess

I know some people who went to Lanzarote last week.
There are quite a lot of people willing to fly out atm. Mostly retired second home owners here who can afford the extra cash for tests and no issues isolating.
Where most resorts will suffer is the lack of families, as it stands it’s just not financially viable for the majority.

I agree, I think most people who are booked would have carried it over from last year though, that was the case for us and it was just coincidence Portugal was on the green list.

Plenty of good deals for city centre hotels mid week now, hardly any business travel and they need to sell rooms.

I've said it a couple of times on this thread but thats pretty much the situation we are in. We have a week in Majorca booked for early August. It was originally booked in 2019 for last August but obviously didn't happen. We elected then to roll it over to this August because in our minds 'everything would be back to normal by then and Covid would be but a memory'! Naive perhaps but wasn't an unreasonable assumption at the time.

The savings at the moment more than cover the cost of tests .

How most of Europe isn't green is nothing short of a disgrace .

If we follow the stats your less likely to get covid in greece than a trip to the Trafford Centre so whats going on
Is it really cheap at the moment? I’ve not even looked.

I presumed it was expensive as I keep hearing about folk who are in Portugal moaning about the price of getting back to the UK.
