#20 | Bernardo Silva - 2020/21 Performances

Bernardo is like a solar powered light - he just needs a few weeks holiday in the sun and then he'll be fine. They have had, like all of us, a strange, tougher, year where even if you have the cash the players have had no time to jet off to visit family and friends - who die to quarantine can't do the same. In a normal year they get extra days off and fly off at a moments notice. When it's like that the weather is less of a factor.

I for one really hope he isn't the one who leaves as there are a few others that would benefit from a change of scene. Bernardo gets it and his distain for all things Merseyside and Stretford is a joy to behold.

Can't help feeling that the fuss over the Mendy tweet took his mojo away.
Hasn't looked the same player since.

Fits into the team until Pep has a Raheem or Jesus moment and Foden/KDB drop back to midfield pushing Bernardo out.

Foden - - KDB - - FFS
- Gundog - Bernardo -
- - - - Rodders - - - -
Zin - Dias - Stones - Kyle

If he does go then we will have to remember his stellar performances from 2018-19 especially embarrassing the Dippers.

Praise from Pep...
One man who epitomised the Citizens' energy was Bernardo Silva, who didn't stop running throughout the 90 minute and earned huge praise from his manager afterwards.
"He did everything, he won all his duels," said Guardiola of the Portuguese, per Goal. "He's the smallest one. He showed again that you don't need to be [tall].

It’s really not. If you have millions in the bank like these footballers do, Manchester (or Cheshire) is a great place to live.

Fair enough have a gripe about the weather especially if you come from a warmer climate but Manchester/Cheshire is a great place to live.

But on the topic of Bernard, if it's a choice between him and Grealish then it's a no brainer, it's been emotional Bernardo.
I live in Newcastle great city beautiful area to live. If was on the money these footballers are on I would be bored shitless there are a few limited places to go in this country for the high earners, the weather is crap and if your family and friends are elsewhere must be a tad difficult

I think it’s an inevitability really. He lives in the city centre instead of the leafy suburbs. It’s an utter shithole. Even I wouldn’t want to live in town, never mind a guy with the money to live wherever he wants in the world. And being cooped up during these covid times won’t have helped either. It’s clear now why his form has suffered so much, he has stayed longer than he wanted to as he isn’t happy. We just have to let him go, no choice.

If Berny wants to go then there is no point in keeping him around. Similar to Aguero we have seen their absolute best at City.

I have seen lots of photos of him in his leisure time, he usually seems to have crowd of close mates, (and their partners), and enjoys socialising by the sea.
I will miss Bernardo if he leaves, I love his work rate and skill, he's probably my favourite current player, but I would never keep someone that wants to leave, (unlike Daniel Levy?).

Mendy apparently is his best mate and could well be moving on also.

OK Joe you seem to know the ins and outs of Bernardos brain so can you show me where you get your info from?
I was probably being a bit over sarcastic. I have read on this forum and several newspaper comments that he wants to leave and the weather and Manchester itself is one of the reasons.
My annoyance with this is that it appears with some posters to be an OK reason to up sticks and head off to sunnier climes.
Sane and Garcia, both younger, wanted to return to their home country and got a lot of stick for it. Bernardo seems to be getting none of this flak.
I genuinely think that a player under contract needs a decent reason to leave a club and rain isn't one of them.
If its really down to lack of gametime, personal issues etc. then I have no problem with that
