Expectations - 2021/22

The first point was that we have benefited from no crowds. How has the conclusion been reached?

I think it's absurd to question this teams mentality. A team that won the league with 100 points, won a domestic quadruple the next season, won 4 league cups on the bounce etc. This City team came from miles behind in a pandemic season to win every game for about 3 months and cruise the league. We didn't concede in about 20 games in a row. Reached a Champions League final.

But because we have had a couple of poor performances against a brilliant Liverpool team we suddenly have a fragile mentality? Honestly, it's an awful take. So far off the mark.

When we go a goal down, we usually fail to turn it round. We are flat track bullies but certain games stick out where we seem to give up once plan A fails.

We have benefitted from no crowds.

I recent seasons we've beat:

Liverpool at Anfield
United at Old Trafford
Chelsea at Stamford Bridge
Real Madrid at the Bernabeau
PSG at the Parc Des Princes
Dortmund at Westfalen

We also beat the lesser teams but calling us flat-track bullies is very strange.

How have we benefitted from no crowds?

And I'm genuinely interested in which clubs you think do not have a fragile mentality if we do? Honestly, I'm completely puzzled as the what classes as a strong mentality if we don't have it.

To play beautiful football and to try and challenge for the league and CL

I only expect the manager to give us the best chance of such, and although he did superbly to get us in a position to do so,ultimately he fell at the final hurdle.
I'm a winner myself,so it hurts me more than it seemingly would someone like yourself, who is happy with second best.
Is it time for the club to ditch some of our less successful fans in order to progress? It still seems there is a significant number of fans that think staying up, CL qualification year after year and 8 out of 12 domestic trophies, centurions and the quadruple is what success looks like. These are the sort of fans who think just finishing comfortably top, winning just one domestic cup and getting knocked out in the CL final is acceptable. Does this undermine the 'winning mentality' of our team and undermine our attempts to have legendary European nights in our quest to become 'European royalty''? Maybe we need to upgrade some of the older fans as well as get a decent manager?

I'm still happy when we win the League Cup lol

Satire is great, and it will fit with some.....but if you think we gave it our best shot in the FA Cup semi and the CL Final, then we are on different pages entirely.
