Rated him last year, and exactly the kind of off field profile City look for. Only problem, his price is doubling or tripling as I type!

Throw in that he’s a hometown boy, like Foden, and the problems begin to mount! It’s probably easier for Real Madrid or Barca to sign players like this than competitors from o’ert ‘ill!

fuck em’ if we are giving them a dealio on Jack Harrison then surely they should give us a dealio on phillips

Haha! If only the world REALLY worked that way!

A deal is only struck when both sides thinks they’re fucking over the other. We lost on Harrison, and today we would lose on Phillips!

The only hope for a decent deal would be a series of realistic add-ons (which won’t ding us this year on FFP) and a healthy sell-on clause (which we hope will never be used)! Beyond that…Does Pep want a suddenly over-priced Englishman or a foreigner he might get cheaper?

Already labelled the "Yorkshire Pirlo" courtesy of ITV's Gabriel Clarke, England's base camp reporter.
This is the reason why I find it hard to follow England because of the hype and bullshit which surrounds them I mean they have just beaten a very poor Croatia who are well past there best and suddenly we are talking world beaters again abc actually planning for the semi and finals . Every tournament and it’s the same bullshit .

We need a Dinho replacement, suggesting this kid is common sense not reactionary.
He’s 26 this year and the thread only escalated after he played well against an average Croatia side.

I actually rate him but he’s suddenly turned into an English Kante after one decent performance.

Where were these superlatives when he was playing well for Leeds?

He's been playing well all season, improved hugely, including against us with 10 men.....that has been acknowledged.
Dinho was older when we signed him,and that didn't work out too bad.

Has to be a genuine consideration,if indeed we are in the market.

No point even talking about him as he isn’t going anywhere. He is a Leeds lad who grew up watching Leeds and his dream was to play for Leeds so he will walk away from them . When clubs are mentioned in for foden we say he will not go anywhere as he is Man City through and through Phillips is the same for Leeds

Not really the same thing since Foden plays in one of the best clubs in the world (there is not really any step up) and Phillips play for a mid-table side without a realistic chance to win anything worth mentioning under his career.

Agree in principle, but the difference is he's unlikely to win any trophies at Leeds, whereas Phil already needs to invest in a larger trophy cabinet

Surely that argument applies to Grealish who some are saying is looking to leave Villa?
