Slightly off topic didn’t realise the winners of this group meets the runner up from Portugal France or Germany so that’s as far as the winners will go from the England group..

Meanwhile the runners up meet the runners up from the Spain group. 2 nil wins a piece for us and the Czechs today then play out a draw in the last game jobs a good un...... until the QF!
 
Weather looks atrocious for those going.

What result do we want to try and get us into second place in the group at the end? Finishing first gives us the second placed team in the Portugal/France/Germany group.

High quality stuff from the off on this thread. I wont try to compete.
England are bitty with no fluency. Lucky we had a superb effort from Phillips last time, so he will be rotated out. Foden is more effective on the left, so he will be at right back or, more likely not play at all.
Slabhead will return, breaking up a partnership that worked well last game. Is Henderson fit? Hope not but I think he will play.
Grealish the enigma. Should play because his feistiness will be needed against the mad highlanders. Kyle is a worry, a poor first half was just about rescued but, to be honest, we have better options if Trippier is fit and selected on the right with a possible back three. Shaw will play.
Who will score our goal? Harry Hotspur very poor vs Croatia, he needs a pen.
England 1--0.

And with McCoist you get someone who has some personality and love of the game and isn't afraid to say things bluntly. Dixon and Hoddle are painfully dull and the analysis in the studio is always drivel.

I don't know why the bar is so low with football, but I've accepted it and just watch the game and switch off to the analysis/commentary for the most part.

Rugby you get Woodward, Wilkinson, Dallaglio and greats from other nations that know the game and give a proper insight. Cricket is generally a good standard of analysis and commentary as well. If you get a dull game of football and Glen Hoddle then you're in real trouble!
