He was put there to give the GREATEST RB IN THE WERLD pause for coming forward. In doing so Southgate removed most of his effectiveness. Surely Sterling could've gone on the right instead?

Thought Hanley was the MOTM. England have a problem with playing Rice and Phillips, personally I'd keep Phillips. That frees a space for Grealish who is desperately needed in midfield. Swap Sterling for Sancho and give Chilwell a bang at LB. Taking Foden off was bizarre, Kane isn't fit, he must be carrying an injury and if that's true then management need criticising for playing him. Rashford too, a Utd fan told me he's been struggling with an ankle problem for two years and a shoulder injury for one, why he got on the pitch I don't know. I do actually but it's not for footballing reasons, Southgate believing the hype around him. England can do better, but time running out for me to have any faith.
