Scotland at the Euros

Well its the morning after the night before and I'm feeling rather chipper. Clarke had to change it, he did and that's why we played better. If he had played the same team on Monday, bar Tierney being injured we might have won. Anyway, as the song goes, regarding Monday, and in the past it must remain, but going forward, we need to use our better players. Our lack of an actual good striker is a continued worry for me. They try hard but that bit of poise and guile isn't there. Our midfield was excellent, they all worked so hard and played some good stuff. Gilmour and McGreggor worked well letting Mcginn forage forward with effect.

Onto Croatia, another tough tough game and capable of handing us our arse, but, we are capable of doing the same to them. My valium arrives Monday and I will be right on it to keep me from exploding. I am looking forward to the games today, smiling like a daft **** that we still have a chance. I was proud of them all. They stood up, fought like fuck, played some good stuff and showed we have more than we get credit for. All we need is for someone to stick a couple away.

I can drink like fuck, obviously, but I would be lying if I didn't admit if I have a right all night session, I can feel as if I am not long for this world. Or and other one you care to mention. I still think I'm 30 at times, well with my hair you would, recovery time not quite backing that up though. Still, I keep going. That's veteran. I don't buckle , if I could stand up I might, but I don't attempt it. Up top for thinking. Horizontal for hangovers.

My wummin ordered me one of those late 60's retro Scotland tops. Unfortunately it onky arrived today, but it looks great. Good cotton, actual badge and crew neck in white. I love it and it will be proudly worn on Tuesday as we battle to qualify. Still a big ask, especially with our zero firepower, hard-working, but that's not enough and they need to score. Croatia will be right up for it and are a quality side. My head is saying they will probably beat us, you have to protect yourself emotionally as a Scot in tournaments, every single time we have been in the situation we bottle it, or are outclassed. Hopefully after last night they believe, but they too must be thinking, Dykes and Adams can't be relied on to score, so someone else will have to. Definitely the poorest strikers I've ever seen play for us at a tournament. They need to step up, it's as simple as that or we are out. No pressure. :)
