Can’t believe people are still following these pathetic restrictions and are happy with a life involving not leaving the UK.
Already visited 3 Amber countries - safer than the uk.

It will be interesting to see what the take up is for 12-16 year olds. My daughter (15) and her friends seem keen on getting it.Cheers. Hadn't noticed that.
This wave is going to well undershoot the "optimistic" modeling predictions made 3
weeks ago and published 2 weeks ago..
Here are the figures for protection angainst severe illness as given as
LSHTM%/Imperial% -> Actual%
Protection against hospitalisation:
PZ 1 dose = 85%/76% -> 94%
PZ 2 doses = 90%/90% -> 96%
AZ 1 dose = 85%/78% -> 71% (better than modelling against infection and death)
AZ 2 doses = 90%/87% -> 92%
Infection and deaths are just as bad.
You just can't believe the modelling these institutions do.
Me too but wouldnt you agree that the 3 things you mentioned are pretty big things to be missing out on?Aside from going to City and the theatre and foreign holidays I would say my life is exactly as it was before now. Seeing as it’s the close season I wouldn’t be going to City anyway so reasonably ok with things at the moment.
dare I say though I am hearing too many ambulnaces again?
You’re not. Up to six people from different households can mix indoors.I must admit I am ( I think ) beginning to break the covid. I went round my kid brothers house the other day for a bbq. We went inside as it started to rain for a few hours.
My aunt and uncle have visited this week from Cornwall and came in for a brew.
This weekend my kid brother, aunt and uncle are coming over for a bbq.
We might be breaking covid19 guidelines. We have followed the guidelines to the letter but we have all had the jab.
We see packed beaches and than the jocks all packed into London.
My close family and our kids all have had the jab now. So we are living life like normal now. That could be breaking guidelines I guess, I dont know !
But after 18 of doing nothing and watching so many people breaking guidelines. I think we are being sensible. I still wear a mask in shops etc and wash hands alot 2 metre rule etc when out and about in public

its the fact that 40 people had had both jabs and were still in hospital put the dampners on things for me.Par for the course I'm afraid. NHS infection control is diabolical and is the NUMBER ONE cause of Covid death in the UK. It's been diabolical for three decades. Crap ventilation on modern hospital wards, no anti viral door handles etc (these should be copper or brass). The list goes on.
MRSA should have shown us the problem that needed to be fixed, but no we ignored that one.
Vulnerable people should be better protected in hospital. They aren't.

youve just got used to the new normal where in reality (for me) 2/3 of the activities you mentioned are HUGE for me and i miss them a lot.

Sorry for your loss, devastating for families, my neighbour who's 48 took a long time to recover from Covid, no underlying issues but it hit him hard.Horrible this fucker, truth will come out, lost a cousin yesterday to long covid, lungs been getting worse for six months til they packed up on Saturday, slowly got him not been in hospital til this week,
Depends on what they were in hospital for and where they caught it (i.e. in hospital). Being double jabbed doesn’t prevent heart attacks/terminal cancer/broken bonesits the fact that 40 people had had both jabs and were still in hospital put the dampners on things for me.
I turned up at my mates for England game. Thought there was only gonna be 5-6 of us.
was instead about 30+ people.
No one cares anymore.
I doubt they are safer than the UK, it's probably because you have been vaccinated by the UK that makes it safer. They're amber for a reason, I hope you follow the rules.Can’t believe people are still following these pathetic restrictions and are happy with a life involving not leaving the UK.

I've mentioned before my mate works at Tameside Hospital, he used to be Patient Transfer but now works all day collecting and disposing medical waste, he calls himself a "bin man". However, he told me last week they cleared out a ward for the sole use of Covid patients as the numbers were rising significantly. It's nowhere near as bad as winter when patients coming into the hospital were in any bed in any ward that was available, at least now they're all together. Another of my friends ex wife is a nurse there and she refuses to get the jab, really irks me.Greater Manchester
Weekly total cases:-
Tameside 486, Rochdale 524, Oldham 527, Stockport 569, Trafford 599, Bury 608, Bolton 686, Salford 841. Wigan 985, Manchester 1982.
Manchester almost 2000 now and Salford and Wigan both well ahead of Bolton which is falling fast and closing in one other boroughs with Wigan close to four figures. But has avoided it for days now happily.
Stockport's good few days see it fall back even more and overtake Trafford.
But Rochdale sneaked back ahead of Oldham with Tameside still sub 500 but rise a bit today.
I heard a report that the Government budgeted 400b but actually only needed 300b of that which would be recovered over the coming years. QE usually equates to inflation which I think we are seeing now, I've not heard the BOE has done this but it may well be happening. Prices of certain products and services have gone up, it's very noticeable.chatting to some economic types a few months back ( im not going to pretend I understood all this so I could be off here in my explanation ).
All the money the Government borrowed for Furlough is already paid off. the Government issued debt to get the money, the Bank of England bought that debt and has already cleared it using a similar method to quantitative easing.

Let’s stay like this until it disappears then shall we? So in other words for ever.Idiots and the selfish don't care anymore.
