I can remember some better than those from the 2010s!

That team arguably represented the low point for City in the 1960s. There were three of them there in the great team from 1966-71 - Oakes, Pardoe, Dowd - plus a couple of bit part players in Murray and Kennedy.

For me David Shawcross was the main lost talent for City from that team. He always looked a class act. He seems to have been badly affected by injury as he only played 47 matches for City in seven season before leaving for Stockport aged 24. I didn’t see much of him at his best but others felt that he could have developed into a top class player without the injury issues.
 
Kevan and Murray ran riot in a double header versus Scunthorpe at Christmas. Loved those socks.

I recall opposition defenders literally bouncing off Derek Kevan every match. He was a perfect example of a 'brick outhouse'.
As kids, we used to wait to see the players at the car park before games, Derek looked like a giant. I was amazed to find out from his obituary that he was only 5' 11" and weighed 12 stone.

Yes about 10 years ago me and the Mrs had a few drinks with him and his wife in the Manchester pub in Mallorca (can"pastella).Great bloke and look really well at the time,sadly he died in 2013.
 
Not sure where Derek Kevan went from City. I was at the Valley when he scored in the first match of the 63/64 season we lost 2-1. I think an ACL injury finished the career of Jimmy Murray at City, they couldn't repair that injury in those days. Smashing partnership though.
 
Alf Wood was Chorlton grammar and Wythenshawe lad. Wife was daughter of Carters chippy on Greenbrow Road. Solid centre half or centre forward. Became a hero at his other clubs especially Millwall and Shrewsbury.

I had hopes for Alf. He came through the same Youth team as Pardoe, Doyle, and Ogley, They made it to the famed Youth Cup semifinal against United that drew a crowd of 60,000 plus over the two legs. Unfortunately United had a slightly stronger team than City including three of their first team regulars: John Aston, David Sadler and George Best.

Alf made the first team squad but didn’t develop sufficiently but had a decent career with Shrewsbury and other teams.

Matt Gray scored a hat trick in the home leg against Scunthorpe.

Scunthorpe were one of three English League clubs of the time, whose name contained a swear word.

The other two were Arsenal and Fucking Manchester United!
