in my opinion people here just internalized the inter-fan banter and convinced themselves players like fernandes/kane/salah are shit. we'd obviously be singing their praises if they played for us but some people have such a distaste to how much the media flatters these players of other teams and not our players, that they must be shit

Kane and Salah absolutely - would love them here, regardless of what anyone says.
 
If we sign Kane I would like to see us have a go at long ball tactics when teams park the bus, especially in last 10 mins when we need a result

People mock long ball and I’m not disagreeing with them, but asides from the shithousery of it all, it’s one of the most effective tactics against deep defending teams. Would be far less frustrating than watching a team try and fail to unpick a lock for half the match

I would agree some of it is the dislike of their club that fogs judgement.

However Fernandes is shite

I would have Kane and Salah if offered and reasonably priced
 
Why should we pay all this money for Kane when we can scout and unknown striker and pay less than half of what we would pay for Kane! I wouldn't pay more than 70mn for Kane. He is turning 28 and at best he can give us 4-5 years

If we are going to pay North of 120 or 130mn or even 100mn plus a player then might as well go for Halaand who will give you 10 years+! But even Halaand's salary is extremely high

We managed to win the PL and reach the CL final without Kane or Halaand. With 100mn we can get 2 solid players that Pep can mould to become world class!

I am against paying more than 70mn for Kane.

Kane would give us 4-5 years? Not sure about that, and if it was true he could well be a bargain at 100m.

Kane will give us 3 top seasons if he keeps clear of major injury.

to counter act the people dont rate/want Kane argument, the narrative needs to stop that Haaland would stay at City for 10 years plus? He wants to play in La Liga and has also said Italy at some point so you MAY get 5 years out of him? Haaland also reportedly wants a starting salary higher than KDB which doesnt fit with our squad harmony policy etc and then i personally think pep wants the mino circus every couple of seasons if Haaland is smashing goals in wanting more money etc? I think the club are looking at the next 2-3 years and know that Kane is settled in England, knows the league, has a professional attitude, never out on the piss, affordable and non boat rocking wages and taking all that into consideration have chosen him to be the man for us.

Nobody knows for sure that Haaland would stay for 10+ years. He could sign a 5 year contract after we paid 150m for him and then walk for free at the end of it if he wanted to.

There are some who are losing sight of the fact that he clearly is a very good player and do display a degree of arrogance but there are a number of valid points being raised as to why he may not be a good fit for us and that what we end up paying for him may be excessive.

It is not narrative. It is a fact that he Could stay for 10+ years. Whether he would or wouldn't is conjecture. But he could, and that is what makes the money worth something. And even if he doesn't, he would be worth a lot anf you could buy another haaland if he were sold, or pocket the money. He could of course run his contract down but that doesn't happen often and it is a small risk in an otherwise logical move with many benefits.

In the same way, it is pretty much a fact that Kane couldn't play at that level beyond 5. Probably fortunate if he does all 5 tbf.

The rest is pure guesswork based on nonsense. Wage demands, agent shenanigans, what he drinks and what his attitude might be, tabloid horseshit.


There is also the simple fact that Haaland is just a better player than Kane. Not just what he might become, but currently too, if you have watched both. Both in ability and physical attributes, particularly pace.

Which makes him a far more worthwhile and logical transfer, at the prices being assumed.

If the club have decided to go for Kane and they do, and get him, great. I'm not convinced it will quite play out like that and am keeping an open mind Haaland being on the agenda at some point in the summer.
