Lots of people who are rich enough to live anywhere choose to base themselves in the Wirral. Not everyone prioritises weather over other considerations. Some people don’t like hot weather. Maybe he likes it there. Why is that bizarre?

A quick check of Rightmove suggests I could.

Very few foreign managers stick around after losing their jobs unless they are living in a big city such as London. Apart from Rafa I cannot think of anyone who has done that.

He left Liverpool in 2010 and has since managed in Italy, Spain and China plus Newcastle and London so I do think it is odd he has stayed there seeing as his wife is Spanish - if she was local it would be more understandable.

I agree. Him living on the Wirral with the money he has is a strange one, i know i wouldn't be there in his position.

Maybe just happy memories of his daughters growing up there or settled family.
