Ah well, seems there’s plenty of delta in Rammy, daughter just tested positive on a lateral flow so the 4 of us are off for a pcr in half an hour. Soon see how double vaccine works etc, me and missus are double AZ, my son is single Pfizer, daughter had none as only 17.

Funnily enough, my local was half empty last night for the game as good chunk of the regulars have tested positive or isolating due to close contacts with a positive. Maybe the ZOE app is correct about Bury, lol.

The wife’s grandad went into hospital of Friday after feeling unwell and short of breath in the supermarket. He tested positive for the virus and is doing well on some oxygen apparently

94 years old and double jabbed, so this will be a test of how good the vaccine is. He does have a few underlining issues too, so hopefully he will pull through

My daughter has to isolate as a child from her childminder' has tested positive.
My daughter's headteacher has a granddaughter who should also be isolating as she is in the year group bubble with the child who tested positive.
My daughter was supposed to be watching a dance show yesterday from her dance school that the headteacher'granddaughter was in - and the granddaughter turned up to take part.
This is after the headteacher has been very vocal about following the rules. He has sent out loads of emails, letters, Facebook posts etc about following the rules as well as being on local radio to emphasise the point.
He has also insisted that parents wear a mask in the playground when picking up the kids even though it's outside.
I am going to drop my kid off at school and not wear a mask so that he stops me to ask me to put one on and I'll be telling him why I'm not.

The headteacher may have had no idea of his granddaughter being at the event - a quick chat would be best wouldn't it?

She was right as rain yesterday, and literally going downhill at a rapid rate of knots, she looks and feels like shit now.

We were all in the car together yesterday as the 4 of us went for a run, so lots of sweaty heavy breathing in car on way home, so if the virus was already in her as you’d expect 24 hours earlier then fair to middling chance we’ve all got it now even if the rest of us get a negative result on our pcr’s.

Next few days will be interesting.

I'm a bit perplexed that evidence from scientific data is required to live life as normal and not the other way around. Hear me out, I'm generally one of the more cautious types around when it comes to Covid and restrictions etc, or at least that's how I'd view myself anyway.

But surely the presumption and standard should be on as normal a life as possible unless scientific data suggests it's too dangerous and the restrictions are needed. Backed up with data, numbers and confidence levels.

Questions around hospital bed occupancy, ICU and deaths are the right questions, but they should be answered by means of why the country should be restricted and not why it shouldn't be, if that makes sense.

It's like a court defendant being presumed guilty and having to go to trial to prove his innocence, it seems a bit backwards. So instead of labour party asking for proof it's safe to open up, shouldn't they be providing data why it's completely unsafe to do just that?

Just that like any other respiratory virus it'll tend to just 'tick over' during the summer months and ramp up as we head into the traditional coughs and colds season.

This is Labour's political point, that it's all been ministerial decisions, the house has had no say. They at least have to provide the data and advice that they keep on mentioning in passing (Kendrick notably today). Which is fair enough, right? Otherwise it's an autocracy.

The real data and advice will be complicated and contradictory. It always is. It's important that society gets its head around this, and then how we end up with a summary and consensus.

There's risk attached to easing measures. It might not be big, but people should be trusted to know that's the way life is. We measure the risks on both sides.

The public sentiment and political momentum is strongly behind coming out ASAP. If we do so, and we have the advice, then it's a risk we took as a country, in full receipt of the facts. That's what adults do. It's the only way this can work.

The phrase is; 'An informed electorate'.

Completely missing the point, the vaccine is stopping deaths and helping the NHS to cope with the pandemic, hopefully it will lead to better treatment for those with non Covid life threatening illnesses. The disease may and probably will get stronger but if we are just one step behind we should be able to cope. I hate cunts like these two, what's their alternative? Letting millions more die to achieve herd immunity? It's not worked with any other disease so far, vaccines got rid of polio, not herd immunity.

They specifically said it should be used for the vulnerable so you saying they suggested they should not and let the virus rip is a misrepresentation.
