He's a good all-rounder. Makes a lot of tackles, interceptions, is a good passer, tactically switched-on, creates chances, gets a reasonable number of goals and assists. Doesn't necessarily excel at any one thing.

Certainly doesn't have the raw talent of Foden or Grealish. Or Sancho, thinking about it.

When you put it that way, I can see it a bit. I don’t know what his numbers are but I think having someone like Kante makes him look a lot better. I think he’s decent for sure but there’s always that phrase someone else here used ‘I don’t get him’ stuck in my head.
