i’m totally baffled. Surely Southgate envisaged who he would have on the pitch and think about who’d be the best mix of skill and experience for taking penalties.

You have to factor in youth as a negative in taking a penalty. look at Mbappe. one of the best players in the word but looked like his arse was gonna fall out when walking up the other day.

Shame. We were in a perfect position at half time, but just stopped playing.
