Not for me, great moments but some equally poor ones too.

Calvin-Phillips by a mile, a worthy replacement for Dinho if we can get him.

Imagine Pep coaching him.
He was bang average from the 2nd half of scotland match til the last ten minutes of the 2nd half tonight.

TBF I thought Shaw and Maguire played well… As did Walker and Stones with Sterling the pick (quiet final.. more to do with tactics though). I actually think the Manchester clubs had the best performers with City obviously edging it. Rashford and Sancho fucked it though.
Exactly.

Pickford
Walker
Stones
Slabhead
Shaw
Rice
Bellingham
Grealish
Foden
Sterling
Kane

That's the fucking side for the World Cup. Don't fuck with it

Agree with all but one. Bellingham? I don't think so. The defence should not be touched. And I don't care what anyone says or thinks, the Stones-Maguire pairing was the best central defence in the tournament. Walker and Shaw were also both really good (although Shaw started very slowly, and that's gone a bit under the radar). It's got the makings of a good team. In the hands of an inspired manager, they could go very far in the WC. That is the big question.
This tournament? Perhaps it's shallow of me, but I'm already over it. I didn't expect us to win it, and I didn't expect us to even be in the final. It was a bonus. We came up against a better team, and lost on penalties.
Definitely not going to spend days moping over it, the way I did over the CL final. Now that one, we should have won.

We have loads of attacking players, but what we don't have is a central midfielder who can dictate the tempo like David Silva, Jorghino, Modric, Busquets etc. A player who will receive, move, pass, receive, move, pass. Until we do, we'll underachieve and never be able to exploit the attacking talent at our disposal.

The whole defence were excellent regardless of what team they play for. I even warmed to Rice and Phillips.

As numb nuts ain't going anywhere he needs to find a better balance for the other positions and also play only one DM sometimes. We created pretty much nothing in 2 hours of football.
Yes after our first attack resulted in a goal, we just sat back and hoped for the best.

Well Ukraine apart I thought we looked pretty crap/rank average from match 1. Not remotely surprised we lost, just a bit surprised it took Italy untill extra time to do it.

I'm just a bit gutted I didn't put a few Bob on my pre-tournament prediction of Italy bearing England in the final :-(
I got 3-1 on a draw when they went 1 down, no way we were holding out for 88 minutes. Have a said Southgate is a risk averse **** resonantly ?

No need to put the blame on the players.
Missing penalties after playing 3 mins of football isn't letting anyone down.

Southgate was too hesitant making changes and the penalty subs (emulating OGS) was a daft thing to do.

I'd be interested to know if this tactic is statistically successful.
To be fair, Rashford and Sancho both have excellent penalty records.

Southgate himself would know that trying to take a penalty when you've never (or almost never) scored one previously is almost certainly statistically more risky.

Southgates not going anywhere, were going to be fed the bullshit now of how he's that good by getting us to a final, extended contract on the table no doubt, its a shame because this England team has great potential under the right manager

This is what I can't understand. There's a hysterical giddiness in the media about getting favourable draws right to the final and then losing which makes them blind to what a terrible manager Southgate is.

If Allardyce had put out that side to play like that tonight (and I think he'd have actually done better) he'd have been slaughtered.
