YeapAssuming you're being ironic and haven't forgotten the 5th round match in Feb 2018, one interesting thing is that out of Stuart Pearce, Roberto Mancini, Manuel Pellegrini and Pep Guardiola, only Pearce managed City to an FA Cup win against Wigan.
There was a lot of pressure brought on himself from certain situations. He does seem a lot more chilled watching him last night. May have just matured as a boss these years. Hope soJust a thought but those oldies in the italian team are big characters but let bobby lead them, he has also been much calmer in the tournement , he is also playing out from the back , sort of so he has settled down, city was a whole shit load of pressure
As you clearly misread, it was to show how winning a cup competition isn’t as easy as you’re making out with Pep and the champions league. Losing that game wasn’t a knock against Mancini, many circumstances why we lost it but it was to address a point. If it’s a debate then fair enough, I answered your question that Mancini wouldn’t have won what Peps won or added a champions league. The main fact being no manager ever has done what Peps done so I’m really surprised if anyone thinks someone else could so easily. Seems you’re just a question master without any input or opinion then. Fair enough.
Why would you ask “do you not think Mancini would have won what Peps won or the champions league” if you’re not thinking it yourself?
As champions of England to then not win a single group game, some would call that a bit of a failure. I’m not here to bash Mancini, some are deluded though thinking he’d win the CL which is madness considering his record in it.
Bobby Manc will always have a special place in the Hearts of older Blues.
That first title was really special.
We had suffered so much in the preceding years. We saw that fucking banner ripped down, and bummed them 6-1 on their own patch. That Bobby Manc cheesy grin at the Swamp. He was as ecstatic as us. Bbbby got us.
Don't get me wrong i love Pep, and what he has achieved for us.
For me though Bobby will always have a special place in my Heart.
That Cup Final against Wigan was the result of some players downing Tools. Making sure Bobby Manc got the sack.
To this day i feel Joe Hart could have done better with that Goal.
For me, I will be forever grateful for what he delivered for us. Winning the FA Cup and the league after so many years in the wilderness, of course. We needed a manager who was single-minded, ruthless and didn't mind treading on a few toes - Mancini fitted that bill and it was necessary to change the culture at the club which was still mired in decades of failure even 15 months after the ADUG takeover.
Throw in the various iconic moments under his management and it baffles me that some City fans still have an axe to grind with him. I'm delighted he's doing so well with Italy, he's completely transformed them from a bunch of failures to European champions.
Thanks for your reply, it means the world to me that you took time to dissect my post with your witticismYawn
I am not making a criticism of his achievements whilst at City, he was the right man at that time, he left us with great memories and shattered the dominance of the rag cunts.Wow @Rascal that is some way to sum up a guy that gave us some absolutely off the scale occasions, memories and pleasure.
God knows what you thought of the Frank Clarke era............ ;-)
He got the club. He got the rivalry. He put the GPC in his box and put rag dominance into reverse. He would never have thrown a derby. He spoke as he found. Also signed and/or nurtured some iconic players.I look back fondly on him of course. I also remember our players fighting with each other and him quite often. Right man at the right time. Being a weird **** is people having him as their favourite ever when we’ve had the best manager ever the last 5 years dominating the English game. I don’t dislike the Mancini love, I hate when weirdos prefer him over Pep.
A lot better than I generally put it..........We can all have a wide variety of opinions on Bobby of course and I get that but I say in the simplest possible terms if anyone in this forum doesn’t have a lifetime’s worth of loyalty to and love for Roberto Mancini then you just are not a City fan.
Pants had also just announced that he wasn't sticking around so Mancini made the executi decision to play the keeper that was going to be staying at the club........Which was a Mancini mistake, he played pants every round until the final and put Hart back in. Pants probably saves that goal just by being taller. You are right though, he deserves the love he gets.
Of course it matters if Pep is a better manager, it’s all that matters. He got the club. He got the rivalry. He put the GPC in his box and put rag dominance into reverse. He would never have thrown a derby. He spoke as he found. Also signed and/or nurtured some iconic players.
Doesn‘t matter if Pep is the “better manager” overall but you’re the fcukin weirdo if you don‘t understand why Mancini remains so popular.
Is it fcuk all that matters when it comes to fondness/appreciation. Mourinho’s a better manager than almost everyone, when trophies are the criterion, but he’s still a cnut. Would you have welcomed him to the Etihad?Of course it matters if Pep is a better manager, it’s all that matters.
Doesn’t make Mancini’s time any less of the great manager he was for us. Just that Peps better.
Its up the players whether they want to get the rats on with him because he didn't say hello to Chappy or whatever his biggest crime was, but they also seem to completely ignore that a lot of them have never played better under any other manager throughout their career (obviously some of it is circumstantial / player maturity etc etc).I am not making a criticism of his achievements whilst at City, he was the right man at that time, he left us with great memories and shattered the dominance of the rag cunts.
He outstayed his time though and whilst he is charming and has nice hair, it does not detract from his arrogance, petulance and his self absorption. He left City with a dressing room in a state of civil war, he was rude, obnoxious and downright dismissive of people at the club.
His faults have been well documented by former players and that came to a head in the Wigan FA Cup final.
There is little point comparing him to any other manager we have had, they all have their foibles, it is Mancini's that were pronounced.
Unfortunately, there are plenty of haters. We can all have a wide variety of opinions on Bobby of course and I get that but I say in the simplest possible terms if anyone in this forum doesn’t have a lifetime’s worth of loyalty to and love for Roberto Mancini then you just are not a City fan.
