It occupies four pages in one of the UK's biggest selling newspapers, and is all over one of the world's biggest media websites, it has been re-tweeted by millions of people across the globe (mostly bitter LFC and MUFC fans). It exists all right and continues to damage the reputation of the club we all love and support.
The club's refusal to tackle this ongoing smear has already damaged us. This latest story really is a crock of shite but ignoring it suggests to our critics we have something to hide. "No comment" is always regarded as "guilty" by the masses. Our passive PR strategy (which may make sense when you consider the bigger CFG picture) has done no favours for City for the last 10 years.

To be fair Pinto's legal team are rent-a-quotes. They have been building the whistleblower defence line for ages. Pinto has even given interviews to some foreign media. I suspect Pinto knows nothing about City's finances (just five misleading emails) They caught him on tape trying to extort money. His lawyer will say anything to muddy the waters.
 
Seriously they hacked millions of emails and essentially found fuck all whatsoever of any note....no smoking gun
They made a few emails into a 5 day spread where most of the report was the shit they added to pad it out!!

Essentially we all know we have inflated deals but it’s our money .....they invented the rule to stop us from investing in our own club , we have then put a lot of Time and effort into Modelling our business in a way that we can legally compete and they don’t like it.
PSG on the other hand have taken the piss, but no one cares
Barca have spent more than they can afford to actually pay back
Fuck them, were better on and off the pitch than these clowns and they can’t stand it

If he was a good whistle blower he would Actually have found something
He found next to fuck all
They spent more time focusing on a crass email about a uefa member dying than any actual evidence

How would we "tackle it" ? Get involved in yet another legal action where the defence raise the old arguments, ask for disclosure of more documents which we would be right not to disclose leading to accusations we are hiding something. City are right not to give these nutters the time of day.

I actually think the sick unprofessional jokes about the UEFA official really prompted UEFA to come after us. I can't believe we still employ some of these Executives. You can't underestimate how important personal malice is in legal battles. Whatever the lawyers say it often comes down to personalities.

It is, and they are hoping the PL turns up something that suggests we weren't honest at CAS thus reopening that line of assault. We have nothing, whatsoever, to gain from engaging with these nonentities.

I'm still laughing at the idea that Pinto would be willing to give evidence against us. If he had any documentary evidence it would have already been provided so the PL would, presumably, be relying on the verbal testimony of a criminal and blackmailer As to what, no-one knows but I'd suggest it wouldn't be a great strategy.

There are many options open to us. Some of the claims in the MOS are just plain wrong and should be re-butted. You can't allow a negative or false story to fester. Khaldoon should do an interview or private briefing for starters. There are plenty of things he can say which would not prejudice any future FFP legal action. We need to be proactive. We have a history of being caught on the backfoot. Look at how we were dragged in to the Super League story and ended up publishing a statement from the Glazers on our own website.
Look at how the Rashford camp handled the negative "tax evasion" story last week. I realise he is flavour of the month but they got their retaliation in first and killed that story before it was published.

Our club is run by experienced businessman, Sheikh Mansour and Khaldoon are very powerful people and you compare them to the likes of Harris and Delaney and it’s no surprise why they don’t take any action against them. They are irrelevant to our owners because in the long run, we will come out on top, like we have already. We’re run by people who are several steps ahead of everyone else and that’s exactly why these articles are getting repeated.
