CAS judgement: UEFA ban overturned, City exonerated (report out p603)

Have a I got this right, Uefa are governed by CAS but the premier league aren’t? So when we are found guilty by a a kangaroo court by the prem we have no recourse to a properly independent unbiased and fair appeal/arbitration process ? If the prem aren’t governed by cas, why not!?

UEFA are based in Switzerland. CAS is a Swiss court of arbitration.

This seems never ending and our reputation is getting further damaged from this sustained attack from the Daily Mail and alike.
Our PR Dept need to really act accordingly and ban some of these twats from entering the stadium or throw them into a tank of Piranha's.
Why on earth are we accepting this yet wining and dining these twats at the stadium on match days.
I thought this shit had finished to be honest.

PB!

Great podcast.
Agreed. If I may add my thanks to PB for his efforts on these matters, yet again. Others have contributed too but PB's approach has been consistently clear, fact-based and does not resort to ad hominem attacks on the perpetrators of these scurrilous, desperate articles alleging wrong-doing by City.

The clarity, logic and factual nature of the argument PB puts up is first rate and contrasts completely with the downright untruths and speculations that these so-called 'journalists' have been reliant on over the past couple of days (and, indeed, throughout this nonsensical episode ever since City was first charged with 'wrongdoing' by UEFA all those years back)

I had the misfortune earlier of taking a peek at the fan sites for The Red Filth and The Anfield Road Formation Brick Throwers' Society, for the first time in several months. It's not a pretty sight over there. 'Untruths and speculations' isn't the half of what the contributors over there are claiming about us. If only they'd have a listen to what PB states, they might learn something. Then again, that lot are never going to qualify to be invited as guests onto an edition of 'The Brains' Trust', so..

Similarly, there's unnecessary speculation on here. Least said about that, the better, methinks.

I was listening to some music on the i-Thingy this afternoon while reading all of this stuff and an old track by The Coasters, 'Along Came Jones', came on which seemed appropriate/synchronous! Hearing the tale of 'Sweet Sue' being harassed by 'Salty Sam' into giving him the deeds to her coal mine made me think of how City and us supporters are continually having to fend off this jealous garbage. Just when you think it's curtains for her each time (whether an approaching bandsaw, or sticks of dynamite, or being tied to the railtrack) then 'along came slow walking, slow talking Jones' to save the day! Don't know if PB is 'long, lean and lanky' like Jones but your informed interventions are greatly appreciated!

My hat, were I to be wearing one, would be doffed in your general direction.. Keep up the good work..

UEFA are based in Switzerland. CAS is a Swiss court of arbitration.

Any “contract” (including e.g. terms of entry to a competition) can specify which arbitration procedure / court applies in the event of a dispute.

So the premier league rules could have specified the CAS to hear appeals, regardless of the fact it’s in Switzerland (international arbitration in this way is very common). Lots of sporting contracts have the CAS as final arbitrators, so I was surprised to find out the PL’s rules don’t.

What this means is that the Premier League’s arbitration panel is the final arbitrator for our dispute with them. It doesn’t mean there is no further appeal avenues - e.g. if the Panel clearly errs, or if it’s biased, or if there’s a procedural problem affecting fair trial, we can take them through the UK Courts. That’s why we took them through the High Court and then the Court of Appeal recently. In theory this should stop them from reaching a clearly perverse decision.

Ferguson would never let these media people close to the stadium.
we invite them, give them VIP treatment, and they happily put our name into the mud. I am sure they cannot wait until they can feed and drink free of charge in Etihad again.

all I would serve for them is a dry slice of bread that has mold on it and rotten fish. eat that and then write your article.

When the likes of harris and the Mail regurgitate the same old shite it has a massive detrimental affect to our clubs image , just like the CAS verdict ,we won the case and yet the aftermath was more reporting of our club making clandestine deals to enable the verdict.
The Premier league investigation will be no different , we will win the case and yet still pricks like Harris will print their "no smoke without fire" rhetoric , the DM customer base is probably well over 50% Rag/Dipper or Goons so they print crap about us to appease their target audience. Its so transparent what their intentions are.
For example have the Dippers ever been investigated over hacking our computers for scouting reports or their sponsors investigated having been found guilty of money laundering terrorists organsiation funds, the answer is no , because it doesnt suit the DM and the media's agenda.
No matter how much investment our owners put into MCFC and the surrounding infrastructure of East Manchester the hateful media undo all the good work with a few headlines , it really is about time our club starting fighting back because investing billions and doing the right thing isnt working. We take one of these bastards in the media to court , tear them a new one and the rest of the media will think twice about printing derogatory headlines.
The gloves are off , i am tired of the club i love and proud to support being dragged through the shit with lies and innuendo , our club should realise it is not just an attack on MCFC PLC , it is also an attack on our fiercely loyal fan base.

I realise it is so unfair that we get constant accusations mostly without substance.
I also realize that our main owner was unwanted from day 1.
Is it possible that this prejudice will continue despite time because prejudice is like that. Winning Court cases means nothing to enemies. Our owner knew this before buying into City, he fights it in other sectors of industry wherever he invests.
Just an opinion but I think we had better get used to it, if we win things we have earnt them against rule bias, var 2nd chances and especially investment accusations.

The FA wasn't interested in the hacking by the Dippers on us by declaring it "was time spent".
They more or less classed it as an historical offence.
What's good for the goose and all that.
Obviously not

It’s all about Harris and clicks. Job done!

No wonder Harris is overjoyed and over the (blue) Moon with his shill work.

Thank you to all the 3.9m people who have read this thread over the past 24 hours, not least the City fans who have talked about it & thus promoted it so widely. These issues clearly matter for so many supporters of clubs everywhere.

Also thanks to the 1,000+ new followers over the past 24 hours. You are certain to be disappointed as I tweet about politics, niche literary novels, the weather, logs (in winter), and how hard it is to source porcini mushrooms in my town.
Porcini mushrooms and much else besides are just one click away.

Slightly off topic for 1 post.

Harris, you f*cking shill!

Put your coffee down and go and find out why Manchester United are funneling their revenues through the Cayman Islands tax haven.

I appreciate that doesn't fit in with your and the Daily United's narrative.

Let me start you off via...

United's F-1 filing with the SEC describes its real corporate structure. United is now officially based in the Cayman Islands, and the football club itself is a shell corporation. Technically, United's new address is c/o Walkers Corporate Services, Walker House, 87 Mary Street, George Town, Grand Cayman, KY 1-9001, Cayman Islands.

The company based there is called Red Football, which owns Manchester United plc (Cayman), which owns Red Football Holdings Limited (UK), which owns Red Football Shareholder Limited (UK), which owns Red Football Joint Venture Limited (UK), which owns Red Football Junior Limited (UK) and Manchester United Limited (UK), and "various operating subsidiaries."(which owns the Daily United, which owns Harris...)

Obviously, this was done for tax avoidance purposes. United said it expects its Cayman registration to make it subject to U.S. taxes
