Harry Kane

If there's any immediate feeling that we can strike whilst Real & Barca are weak, then I can see why we'd pay €120-150m for Kane, who's tried and tested over a number of seasons in a top league (infact, the one we play in), but not - yet - for Haaland (who, however promising he may be, simply isn't).

Couple this with the fact that Mbappe is available to sign a pre-contract in 5 months, and I don't think a Haaland deal makes sense until he's proved himself for another year, and his buyout clause has come down to €75m.

If we manage to sign Grealish, I think that even if we sign neither, we could still probably find someone else and be more than capable of winning the league and - who knows - having another crack at the CL.

Nothing to do with not grasping it. Someone said he wasn't a available.....I said (hiding the same argument that people have with kane about quoted prices) that he is....
The reason why haaland wont come to us is cause we sint going for him

Of course...but that would be contrary to what has been widely suggested and reported. Its far more likely we dint get him cause we wont go for him. This is most likely a club decision for whatever their reason(s)

If the rumours are true we approached Spurs in January for Kane, I think it's unlikely we were ever seriously in for Haaland.

Why Haaland and his family are involved with Riola is a weird one and not a good sign. Great agent for players just off the top tier looking to make a lot of cash, but for elite players, an agent with lot of baggage and bad feeling that top clubs don't like around stinking the place out.

Even Chelsea seem not to want to get involved in this deal.

I think the club will have explored multiple options. Kane is possibly 1st for a number of reasons
1. Price and availability- both are available but we would have to pay more than we are willing to get Haaland this summer as we are not waiting a year for his release clause. We cant wait whereas chelsea can and will I think ( hence why they may seem uninvolved this transfer window)
2. Pep doesnt want a project, he wants a ready made striker - at least that is a theory in here and one I can understand ( though dont necessarily agree upon)

You answered your own question as regards to why haaland is involved with Raiola, however the agent himself said he had no issue with dealing with us (pep) etc.

Lots of players come with baggage....we signed Balotelli, Bellamy we dealt with Stephen Ireland, Barton, Yaya (Saluk), Tevez...all had significant baggage either at the time or while at the club. Wasnt Dunney a heavy drinker?

Haaland will have been an option but we are going for kane for the first two reasons and that he is premiership proven.

Do I agree...no I dont but that's the way it is. Kane will be a success (he cant fail with the supply he will get) and score plenty of goals. I just think we are missing something with getting him (and not just Haaland)
 
AFAIK, from listening to ITKs and reports from the past few months, Pep requested Harry Kane. If Haaland had a release clause this summer I would imagine we'd be in the fight but considering Harry's agents aren't asking for 20m each on top of a £175m fee and the rumoured 500k+ a week in wages. Haaland is unfeasible this summer. Could we next summer? Maybe. Who knows? But this summer it is Kane and Kane only
