Well realistically, if Levy is to negotiate they would have to identify a target. If there is no target, then the chance of any negotiation is dead.Don’t care.
Do you think Spurs will need to go through a shortlist of 17 strikers before one agrees to sign? You know, a bit like the search for a new managerI guess that Levy wants more than £120m.
As you will find out, he is hard to love despite his goals. He is also hard to hate. I feel a bit meh about him. I loved Bale, Berbatov, Modric, etc. and was saddened when they left. I don't feel that about Kane.
On balance I think Spurs are better off with the money. I agree they need a refresh. Or just to build a team around someone else.
How big of an idiot is Bernard Silva for signing an extension thru 2025?He's in a mess of his own making, he was a total idiot signing the six year contract without a cast iron release clause.
Hard to convince him to move there
I think if they had of put a release clause in his contract, it would have probably been set at about £150mWow! This is really hard work.
It doesn’t. I was originally responding to yours and to be fair another Spurs fan poster who was asking for evidence of a gentleman’s agreement. Asking for evidence of a gentleman’s agreement is daft. There isn’t evidence otherwise it would cease to be a gentleman’s agreement and become a written contract. Also, there’s no point in being snide, you’re probably not a financial advisor but you know what a fucking mortgage is.
Just to be 100% clear with you. I don’t give a fuck if Kane stays at Spurs or comes to us. I was merely commenting on the gentleman’s agreement bit. That’s the bit that should concern you as a Spurs fan. Whether there is or isn’t one, neither you or me know. But Harry Kane does and if he feels wronged it should concern YOU and SPURS. I don’t care, it’s not our problem, it’s yours.
Fwiw I think Harry and his bro were stupid to sign a deal without a release clause. It’s not like Levy doesn’t have a reputation or anything. If there was a proper release clause at least the decision to stay or go would be Harry Kane’s. So on that score I have no sympathy for the guy.
City made a bid. It’s not enough for Levy. Harry expected him to accept the bid. It’s a stalemate. I‘m sure Kane will be professional (eventually). But I doubt he’ll be skipping off into the distance holding hands with Levy. If you think that’s a recipe for success, then all power to you and Spurs. Enjoy your season.
Just read it on Sky Sports News, wants Kane, Messi probably not.Just seen Pep's press conference. This is getting done. No doubt about it. Will be fun watching Spurs fight to finish above the likes of Wolves next season.
I keep seeing this line of reasoning but it simply doesn't add up.Do you think this is a good look for Spurs? If talented young players feel any future dream moves will be blocked they might not join Spurs in the first place. Why go there when you can join a similar club (in terms of budget) such as Leicester, Dortmund or Sevilla knowing they’ll let you move on if a reasonable bid is made.
How knows. There's also other factors in there as well in order for him to want to move to Tottenham. There is a big Brasileiro, South American, Latin footballer community in and around London. They all hang out together regardless of their clubs. He will like it.
And Jesus is a Brazilian footballer. So if the money is right. He'll go.
Whether Spurs want him is another matter entirely.
Guess so but never nice seeing someone disregarded like that. He's in a mess of his own making, he was a total idiot signing the six year contract without a cast iron release clause.
Levy doesn't give a shit, he signed a 6 year deal and levy wants him to stay unless a ridiculous offer comes in North of £150m. He will still want over 100m when kane is 30Kane isn't 22 and not Messi either. His value is only going one way over time - part of the reason I'm not arsed if we get him.
His normal response is "He's a Tottenham player and I don't speak about other players that play for other clubs". I think there's a good chance of this getting done.Pep was giving clear nod and wink to Harry in the press conference
no matter messi is available you are still our number 1 target
Hi ego and his standing as England captain in my opinionwhat gives you that impression re Kane? He clearly has no attachment to 10 as he wears 9 for England for example. If he comes I would imagine he will wear 18 like he did with spurs up until 2015
I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. Apart from Walker most of those players were either denied a move or made to wait. For each player you mentioned there’s a Rose or Alderweireld who wasted what should have been their best years at Tottenham.I keep seeing this line of reasoning but it simply doesn't add up.
Levy has been making player sales a nightmare for buying clubs for the past 15 years. Yet Spurs still routinely buy players with the potential to be future stars.
What players look for in a new club is, in no particular order: salary; a step up from their old club; the new club's manager; their chances of getting in the team; the team's chances of competing in the CL; the team's chances of winning silverware; the team's style of play; where the club is based; how much the new club makes them feel wanted and appreciated.....etc.
The possibility of that club driving a hard bargain in 3-4 years, when the player wants to leave, will rarely figure highly among the list of considerations. Especially if that club can point to previous players such as Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale and Walker - all of whose new clubs were subject to such hard bargaining but all of whom got their moves regardless and went on to have highly successful, silverware laden careers.
In that case levy and spurs are most welcome to him.Levy doesn't give a shit, he signed a 6 year deal and levy wants him to stay unless a ridiculous offer comes in North of £150m. He will still want over 100m when kane is 30
