Putting our bias aside and just talking from a general football fan point of view watching him finally leave and going to play farmers 30 games a season is really disappointing. Hard to see otherwise, really. He can't say he's going to PSG to test himself in Ligue 1. I know there's a lot of fairly mediocre football played in the PL, but it is a stronger league than its French equivalent. And if he's going there to try to win the CL again, he could have nearly as much chance of that at us or Chelsea. And from what I believe, the weather in Paris can be mixed. It looks like a money driven move, if it comes off. Pity. The bloke can't be short of a few bob, large tax bills notwithstanding.

There's a funny old saying or whatever that I'm struggling to remember.

Why don't you want Kane?

I'd prefer a younger guy, I feel Kane could hit a wall in the next couple of years and at £150m it is a lot for two seasons worth of goals, which he will get but the chance to sign a younger striker and keep him for a 10-year legacy just appeals more to me.

I don't think we're giving up on Kane, my first sentence was in regards to Messi.

I think with Kane it's just going to be very very difficult is all, I don't think the club will give up. I have no idea which way it goes, as last week I had slightly more feeling it would happen and now I'm unsure.

I think its fairly telling that Messi pretty much immediately called Pochettino rather than Guardiola after Barca released him.

True. But how often would he have played? I love the guy; he provided me with the most memorable moment I've ever seen in the flesh, or am likely to see. But if he was to come on the market, can you see us tabling a bid? If we did, it'd be a surprise to me.
