Harry Kane

Not sure, noone else was interested of him for that money i guess.he has a few years to prove that he is that good. Still need a world class striker if we want to fight for all the titles.chelsea is getting stronger and they already beat us 3 times in a row with werner, who seems to be even worse than sterling in front of goal.
He only wanted City.

I can only assume you have no idea as to how the transfer system works.

I don't think anyone really does? But let's be honest and talk Ings to Villa (granted, not PL top scorer and England captain) but there was no press, no BS, just straight in offer made - deal done (again, not that we see what goes on behind closed doors) but that's how a transfer should be done.

I understand this is all to do with Levy, but the obvious piece is here, if we're not going to pay what they want - they aren't going to sell him.

At this rate, we're going to be starting the season with Sterling up top.

We were three games from a quadruple without a striker last season. Aguero was already missing in truth. Grealish makes us better so we have done what we needed to and improved an already impressive squad.

Kane clearly answers a problem for us and gives us the option to play a variety of alternative systems. We can go long to him, cross to him or play a false 9. Torres could improve and fill that role more impressively or others could. Jesus might even knuckle down and deliver.

There is no 2nd option. Haaland isn't a goer and who else is there that has a CV as impressive as Kane's? For a club that has won nowt he has scored and created a shit tonne in so many different competitions for a sustained period. The club would be panic buying if they looked anywhere else.

Others might have improved too but we have added the most creative player in the league to our squad and are trying to add the top goal scorer too. That's a fucking statement of intent to everyone in England.

... So you agree with my post? For the record I think we will get Kane and don't need a back up priority.

The point of my post was that the Grealish and kane transfers aren't one or the other and everyone needs to stop going on about it. The part about having a back up was a hypothetical worst case to demonstrate grealish and kane have been budgeted and 100 million on grealish doesn't disqualify the kane transfer...

I don’t think he’d accept the view himself that he gives City as ‘easy ride’, and it’s not a view I share either. He’s outspoken and independent minded enough on everything else, in sports, music and when he’s written on non-sporting issues that there is no logical reason for that. I’ve not gone back and checked, but I’m also fairly sure of watching him in the old Hold The Back Page days pre our takeover that he wasn’t noticeably pro City. He’s taken a view on FFP as an idea which stands out from most other journalists, so it can make it seem like he’s giving us an easy ride, but like @mccity i just think he’s fair. On issues outside FFP he can be as critical as anyone else.
So on the whole he is a fair minded and well balanced journo.... oh if only there were more of his ilk ....

Our apparent lack of interest in an alternative option tells me this is very much On!
I think so too. We've let some reasonable strikers go without seemingly a flicker of interest (you may say reasonable is not good enough, but any decent No.9 would plunder goals in our side).

We are still just inferring and hoping though. Even if there are loads of reports and newspapers talking about imminent deals, that can be complete rubbish as well (that was Koulibaly last season).

Yep Spurs will have briefed they don't want players in exchange but it will just be the players refusing to go there. Laporte could be playing for Real Madrid and Jesus could be at Juve. Just a shame for them nobody has any money atm.
Chaotic last week of the window ahead? These clubs are waiting for loan moves, and bargains.
